FreshLife Sprouter

Has any one tried this? Opinions? Pros? Cons?

Reading the instructions online, it sounds like you can only grow one batch at a time (put 1 disc into the barrel, top with seeds, then top with the other disc), But in almost every picture they show, it looks like there is a batch growing on the top disc, as well as on the bottom.

I'm contemplating splurging for one, but don't know if I should go ahead and get the 2nd barrel to grow more at once, or if I can grow 2 batches in 1 barrel.

Many thanks!

Thanks! :)

I went ahead and got the extra barrel. The main advantage I see of the automatic sprouter over jar sprouting is volume (seriously, it isn't a major PITA to rinse your seeds/sprouts every day); also, if you're busy, or away for the day (or the weekend), you don't have to worry about forgetting.

I believe each barrel has the capacity for about 1 lb. of sprouts. I started the first one on Wednedsay (alfalfa and fenugreek) and will start the other this weekend (hoping to find a good 'salad mix'). By staggering them, I hope to pretty much have a constant supply.

Tam has that one that's like a double layer white plastic contraption that you spin around to get the water out, it looked good in the video I watched. I completely forget the name of it but I was looking at it specifically for those delicate sprouts like broccoli that get funky if just the right amount of moisture isn't maintained.

I would like to ask the same thing. I use a glass jar. I cannot figure out why it would be so much better to use some machine. Sounds like more work and expense. If someone can tell me one reason why it's much better than a jar, I'm all ears.
