Date: May 06, 2008 09:24PM What I saw was two guys who planted an acre of corn and observed what happens to it...
It is used in so many common products, mostly as corn starch and corn syrup. They said a typical fast food meal is mostly corn based. The corn fed beef, the corn oil used on the fries, the corn syrup in the Coke,etc.... Also that most grain fed cattle eat corn too.And that farms have become nothing more than money makers, and not the family businesses of 100 yrs ago. I get the impression that the movie says corn is making America fat and unhealthy. Maybe so. After watching it I was glad that I am no longer a consumer of the SAD! Maybe PBS will air it again.... Date: May 07, 2008 04:54AM I liked the part about how they talked about acidosis in cattle... and how they had to use anti-biotics to stem that off. But thier life span would only last about 6 months in feed lots using the corn and antibiotics, so they shipped them to slaughter at 5 months.
