easy hydroponic greens

Date: May 12, 2008 11:02PM Today I went to the lccal hydroponics store. They had some nice salad greens growing. This is how to do it. In your growing container put in a layer of gravel or clay balls. Lay paper towels down. Sprinkle seeds on the towel. Moisten with water. Put a very light layer of gravel or clay balls on top. When the plants come up more gravel or clay balls can be added. You can also start the seeds in starter trays and transplant them.

Date: May 13, 2008 06:17AM I just started my indoor hydroponic greens experiment. I am testing between gravel and the Hydroton clay pebbles. Gravel is much cheaper. I put 16 fiber cone plant starters in each tray. The cones are filled with potting mix. The trays are 17 x 17. They are surouned by the gravel or Hydroton. I wont have to transplant anything. I will water with dilute sea water solution made with celtic sea salt. I have spinach, kale and romaine lettuce planted.
