Date: July 17, 2008 06:28PM Amos the Avocado. I raised him from a little pit. I had the pit in water for months and nothing seemed to happen. Then one day, the pit cracked, and I saw a little baby something inside it... Nothing much happened for about a week, until it started putting out a loooong root down to the bottom of the water container. Still nothing sprouted on top. So at that point I put it in soil and SHAZAM. That was about two weeks ago, and he's doing great. -DaveK Re: His name is Amos

Date: July 21, 2008 06:11PM Well we could put them in front of webcams and log them onto skype or something, and then maybe the light-image emanating from the screen will have a sort of photo-synthetic effect back and forth which could serve as a possible form of plant communication?
Or I could just have a very overactive imagination. -DaveK Re: His name is Amos

Date: July 23, 2008 05:07PM I've been reading a lot of short SF stories lately, so maybe that'd done something to my brain. Actually kind of a good premise! Re: His name is Amos

<<I've been reading a lot of short SF stories lately, so maybe that'd done something to my brain. Actually kind of a good premise!>> Okay, Itzdavey, let's you and I start this story, shall we? and anyone else that wishes to pipe in: Premise: Amos the plant falls in love with another plant named Amy after the EMF frequencies emanating from Itzdavey's computer instigates Amos to notice the other flora on the screen. So here it goes: The evening is saturated with periwinkle thought Itzdavey as he looked at the sky rim. He decided to not go to the star party where people with insane amounts of fascination would point their scopes at the heavens and sigh for long periods of time. Maybe he was jealous of their precise devotion .... the kinda devotion that made him start triangulating his way back home... He had more important matters to think about than constellation events. He was now a papa... of a plant called Amos. Re: His name is Amos
