In fact, if you do a search for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and Barney Frank, you'll see he was instrumental in blocking the Republicans from passing legislation to regulate and investigate Fannie and Freddie a few years. Some might event contend that this whole financial mess we're in today is partly his fault. He's in it waist deep. Re: Herald Readers Put Blame on Barney Frank

Date: September 30, 2008 04:33PM The Herald is a terrible newspaper that has very low circulation compared to the Boston Globe, because it's a blatant right-wing editorializing rag. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Re: Herald Readers Put Blame on Barney Frank

Date: September 30, 2008 08:56PM Thanks guys. After reading the two articles, plus a rebuttal by Barney Frank (albeit not a very good one) I am inclined to agree with you on this issue. Good summary in the Wall Street Journal article:
"In opposing genuine reform of Fan and Fred, Mr. Frank wasn't acting like a principled liberal. He was protecting corporate giants while hiding their risks from taxpayers until the middle class got stuck with the bill." I'm surprised, because Barney is as principled as you can get on a lot of other issues, so I naturally assumed he was trustworthy on fiscal reform. Must be something they put in that Washington water. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
