Rain water and Snow...
Posted by: roadrunner ()

Everyone says rain water and snow is pure.
Rain and snow are evaporated from the waters of the earth and then comes back down in the form of snow and rain.
If Snow and Rain come from the waters of the earth how are they pure?
Our waters are contaminated and nasty!
that is unless the water comes from a fresh spring right out of the ground in high elevations up in the mountains where the water is untouched by man or animal.

Right now, outside my suburban Detroit window, the snow is looking assuredly filthy.

I think the rain water is pure when it starts moving toward the clouds stage because it uses the distillation principal of leaving the impurities behind and going toward the clouds as steam or mist. As it moves toward the clouds and collects into droplets and then returns to the earth as rain it collects impurities in the air and washes the air clean so that it is fit to breathe. Its an amazing renewing cycle that has been going on since the earth began. Unfortunately as more pollution has found its way into the air, land, and sea the cycle is having more problems keeping us safe. Examples of this can be seen in acid rain that wipes out forests and lakes that become so polluted that the fish die, etc.

I think it you live away from major population centers, rainwater (or snow I suppose) is surely your best source of naturally distilled water.

Snow in any source is cleaner then unfiltered water I would imagine...and should be largely free of the contaminates that are intentionally put into the water supply. If you are very picky about water however you might want to pass.

Isn't distilled water very good for us? At least if we did it in an clean environment, like this: [www.durastillstore.com]

Healthybun,

There is some debate that distilled water has an acidifying effect on tissues. Also, unless you do it yourself, you cannot be sure that the water wasn't distilled in containers of heavy metals that could've leached into it. [I am feeling like I've posted this somewhere already . . . anyway,] High desert well water is probably the best, but the rest of us must do what we can. So, I'd ask myself: what's the distillation container made of and what adverse effect might "cooked" water have on my body? I don't think we need imbibe cooked water, but maybe that's personal preference.

The rains will knock air born crap down and into the streams , rivers oceans
food chain. I live in the rain forest of northern Ca. and up here on the north
coast in this very rual area the cancer rate is way above national ave.
a stream filterd thru earth is the best, but that earth has to be pure, and
thats a rare bird these days. common sense one water, one air one earth.
I think I heard it said we only have 3% non poluted water left in the U.S.
How can you be healthy and live on bad water? Flesh prodution and modern
agg. have been the biggest source of polution into our waters. We forgot
2,000 tons of depleted urainium vaporized coming down with the rains and
snows world wide from this latest dumping in Iraq.
