Date: June 25, 2009 07:22PM Hi there,
I wondered if you'd be interested in an online discussion about the role of cooking in human evolution. It starts tomorrow (Friday the 26th) at this site [www.world-science.org] Probably you've heard of the book Catching Fire, by Richard Wrangham. It's about the role of cooking in human evolution, and is often reviewed as ant-raw. BUT Wrangham himself eats no red meat himself, and is sympathetic to the raw food movement. Tomorrow, Wrangham will be on The World Science Podcast and then he'll be online to discuss his ideas with anybody who wants to chat! He'll check in throughout the week, til July 3. Just about anything is fair game-- your own take on food and evolution, your questions, your experience with raw vs. cooked food. I hope you'll be able to check it out and enjoy the discussion! Thanks for the link; I'll try to check it out as it's very intriguing. In interviews, Mr. Wrangham certainly doesn't seem sympathetic to the raw food movement, but we'll see . . . looking forward to the discussion : ) la_veronique, Hardy-har-har! Re: about "Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human"
