Date: April 20, 2007 02:48PM hehe i was listening to this on the way to work ... i love the rocky horror picture show and have seen it i dont know how many times lol I thought it was a great song for a friday ...now im gonna be thinking about doin the time warp all day till the weekend
and heres for LaV or anyone that want to listen to it without downloading it [www.rockyarchive.org] The Time Warp It's Astounding Time is fleeting Madness takes it's toll But listen closely Not for very much longer I've got to keep control I remember Doing the Time Warp Drinking those moments when The blackness would hit me And the void would be calling Let's do the Time Warp again. Let's do the Time Warp again It's just a jump- to the left And then a step to the ri-i-i-ght With your hands on your hips You bring your knees in tight But it's the pelvic thrusts That really drive you insane Let's do the Time Warp again Let's do the Time Warp again It's so dreamy Oh fantasy free me So you can't see me No, not at all. In another Dimension With voyeuristic intentions Well secluded, I see all. With a bit of a mind Flip You're there in the Time Slip And nothing can ever be the same You're spaced out on sensation Like you're under sedation Let's do the Time Warp again. Let's do the Time Warp again Well, I was walking down the street, just a havin a think, When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink, He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise, He had a pick-up truck and the Devil's eyes He stared at me and I felt a change. Time meant nothing never would again. Let's do the Time Warp again. Let's do the Time Warp again. It's just a jump- to the left And then a step to the ri-i-i-ght Put your hands on your hips And bring your knees in tight But it's the pelvic thrusts That really drive you insane Let's do the Time Warp again Let's do the Time Warp again Edited 1 time(s). Date: April 27, 2007 11:09PM i found this cool song and accompany video on youtube
scatman john was a stutterer the video seen here is a raw food smoothie making video [www.youtube.com] with this song as background hehe Scatting by Scatman John) I'm calling out from Scatland I'm calling out from Scatman's world. If you wanna break free you better listen to me. You got to learn how to see in your fantasy. I'm calling out from Scatland... Everybody's talkin' something very shockin' just to Keep on blockin' what they're feelin' inside but Listen to me brother, you just keep on walkin' 'cause You and me and sister ain't got nothin' to hide. Scatman, fat man, black and white and brown man Tell me 'bout the colour of your soul. If part of your solution isn't ending the pollution Then I don't want to hear your stories told. I want to welcome you to Scatman's world (Scatting by Scatman John) I'm calling out from Scatland I'm calling out from Scatman's world. If you wanna break free you better listen to me. You got to learn how to see in your fantasy. Everyone's born to compete as he chooses But how can someone win if winning means that someone loses. I sit and see and wonder what it's like to be in touch. No wonder all my brothers and my sisters need a crutch. I want to be a human being not a human not a human doing. I couldn't keep that pace up if I tried. The source of my intention really isn't crime prevention. My intention is prevention of the lie (yeah) Welcome to the Scatman's world (Scatting by Scatman John) I'm calling out from Scatland... (Scatting by Scatman John) I'm calling out from Scatland... I'm calling out from Scatland... I'm calling out from Scatland... Re: Jukebox Jodi's Song of the day

Date: May 05, 2007 10:38PM When i was growing up i used to love watching the irish rovers variety hour .. especially since they alwyas sang this song
[www.youtube.com] The Unicorn Song A long time ago, when the Earth was green There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen They'd run around free while the Earth was being born And the loveliest of all was the unicorn There was green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born The loveliest of all was the unicorn The Lord seen some sinning and it gave Him pain And He says, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain" He says, "Hey Noah, I'll tell you what to do Build me a floating zoo, and take some of those... Green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born Don't you forget My unicorns Old Noah was there to answer the call He finished up making the ark just as the rain started to fall He marched the animals two by two And he called out as they came through Hey Lord, I've got green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees Some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord, I'm so forlorn I just can't find no unicorns" And Noah looked out through the driving rain Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games Kicking and splashing while the rain was falling Oh, them silly unicorns There was green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees Noah cried, "Close the door because the rain is falling And we just can't wait for no unicorns" The ark started moving, it drifted with the tide The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried And the waters came down and sort of floated them away That's why you never see unicorns to this very day You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born You're never gonna see no unicorns [New Lyrics] Now you might think this is the ending to the song, But I'll have to tell you friends that in fact you're wrong You see, Unicorns are magical, so when the rain started pouring, They grew themselves some wings and they took to soaring. You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees But if you're looking for the unicorns, don't be forlorn, The second star to the right and straight on until morning ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Jukebox Jodi's Song of the day

FRUITCAKES By Jimmy Buffet [www.youtube.com] you know, i was talking to my friend Desdemona the other day, she runs the space station and bake shop down near boomtown. She told me that human beings are flawed individuals, that the cosmic bakers took us out of the oven just a little too early and thats the reason we're as crazy as we are, and i beleive it. chorus Take for example when you go to the movies these days. They try to sell you this jumbo drink 8 evtra ounces of watered down cherry coke for an extra25 cents, I dont want it, i dont want that much organization in my life. I don't want other people thinking for me. i want my junior mint! where did junior mints go in the movie? I don't want a 12 pound nestle crunch for 25 dollars. i want junior mints! We need more fruitcakes in this world! Less bakers! We need people that care! I am mad as hell! I don't wanna take it anymore! chorus fruitcakes in the kitchen fruitcakes on the streetstruttin' naked through the crosswalk in the middle of the week half baked cookies in the oven half baked people on the bus there's a little bit of fruitcake left in every one of us paradise-lost and found paradise-take a look around I was out in california where I hear they have it all they got riots, fires and mudslides they got sushi in the mall water bars and brontosaurs chinese modern lust shake and bake life with the quake the secret's in the crust (chorus) speaking of fruitcakes-how about the government? your tax dollars at work we lost our martian rocketship the high paid spokesman said looks like that silly rocketship has lost it's coneshaped head we spent 90 jillion dollars tryin' to get a look at mars I hear universal laughter ringing out amoung the stars fruitcakes in the galaxy fruitcakes on the earth struttin naked towards eternity we've been that way since birth half baked cookies in the oven half baked people on the bus theres a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us religion, religion,oh theres a thin line between saturday night and sunday morning here we go now .. wheres the church, who took the steeple? religions in the hands of some crazy ass people television preachers with bad hair and dimples the gods honest truth it aint that simple it's the buddhist in you, it's the pagan in me it's the muslim in him, she's catholic aint she? it's that born again look, it's the wasp and the jew tell me what's going on, I aint got a clue! here come the big ones- relationships- we all got em we all want em, what do we do with em? here we go, i'll tell ya she said youve got to do your fair share now cough up your half the rent i treat my body like a temple you treat yours like a tent but the right word at the right time may get me a little hug its the difference between lightning and a harmless lightning bug (chorus) the future-captains log-stardate 2000 and something we're seven years from the millenium thats a science fiction fact stanley kubrick and his buddy hal now don't seem that abstract so, i'll put on my bob marley tape and practice what I preach get Jah lost in the reggae mon bakin. as I walk along the beach stay in touch with my insanity really is the only way it's a jungle out there kiddies have a very fruitful day (chorus) That's right. you too. those crumbs are spread all around this universe. I've seen fruitcakes. I saw this guy in santa monica rollerskate naked through the crosswalk. down in new orleans, in the french market there are fruitcakes like you cannot beleive.New York, forget it..fruitcake city.Down island we got fruitcakes. spread them crumbs around. we want em around. keep bakin baby, keep ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: Jukebox Jodi's Song of the day

Date: June 27, 2007 07:21AM Here's one I love and though I'm not a country music fan, I am a Bonnie Raitt fan. There's lots of twang in this one.
The protagonist is named Jody (not quite the same, but anyway...) Artist/Band: Raitt Bonnie Lyrics for Song: Papa Come Quick (Jody And Chico) Lyrics for Album: Luck of the Draw Papa come quick, Jody's gone to the city What we gonna do now that Jody's gone She left a note on the TV and Papa it's a pity What we gonna do now that Jody's gone. Mama's been cryin in the kitchen since mornin She cried right through As The World Turns I seen it myself and papa it's a bitch'n Let's haul ass before the baby gets burned. Gas up the old Ford, get out the road map They got a head start about half a day Load up the shotgun, put it in the gunrack Jody's with Chico down in East L.A. It must have been that wild-eyed, silver-toungued schemer A girl like Jody don't think for herself. Him and that Harley and his damn Jalapena Smokin that stuff'll make you hurt yourself. Papa come quick Papa come quick Papa come quick Papa come on First verse Gas up the old Ford, get out the road map They got a head start about half a day Stop at the Mobil, pump up the the flat wheel Jody & Chico and his ding dang deal. Date: June 28, 2007 03:12AM Oops, Jodi, I hope you don't take offense at these lyrics. I had this song running through my head for a long time and remembered you had this thread. It's a really cute song and the lyrics just add to the cuteness the way Bonnie sings it. Wasn't meant to be serious. Maybe we could find Jodi songs to add here (I don't know any more)

I LOVE "Good Mornin', Starshine" -- it was my absolute favorite song when I was in college in the '60s. And Tracy Chapman used to be a street musician here in Cambridge in Harvard Square; I often would come out to play in the "COOP" alcove and she'd already be there singing. Small world.
