Sock puppets and spammers and trolls, oh my...

Date: March 07, 2013 02:01AM I have been a bit bemused lately at the number of "new" posters, as well as those who link other products to their posts. Some people will even post and I am not familiar with their name and when I look at their info, they first signed up in 2006!
I want new members to feel welcome and I also don't want to accuse people of trolling, but on the other hand, I don't like to get hosed. So it's been a bit frustrating and I just wanted to share this with y'all. Re: Sock puppets and spammers and trolls, oh my...

Date: March 07, 2013 08:34PM I'm not sure what you mean, banana who. I know this board crashed in 2006 and everyone had to re-register, so a lot of members look like they first started posting then. If I found a product I liked that I wanted to tell everyone about, I would post a link to it. Do you mean on the main forum or this one or one of the other ones. Date: March 08, 2013 01:08AM All forums...I am not talking about signing up in 2006. I just think it's weird that someone signs up in 2006 and is inactive for all these years and then starts up again in 2013 and dredges up old threads, too. Then there are these two new posters going back in forth on one thread and I looked at their signup dates and they signed up on the same day or so. They also have similar writing styles  (seen this more than once), which is interesting. It both amuses me and freaks me out to think of someone conversing with his/her sockpuppet.
