Do any of you live on a tropical island or state where you can grow fruits and veggies year 'round? Just curious (and envious).

I don't live on one and I don't want to because it would be so far away from my family, and I'm afraid of hurricanes, and with this extreme weather, the whole island could get wiped away. Look at what happened in the Philippines. Plus I like the feel of having a whole big country at my disposal with plenty of big open space. And then there's the feeling of being marooned out in the middle of nowhere like when you take a cruise. I like it here in Virginia in the mountains, even though it's cold for three months out of the year. At least during the cold months we don't get those scary flying Paletto Bugs they get where it's warm all year.

I also don't want to live on an island that might become so overly populated that it might tip over and capsize -

Sorry to be negative, but I waited for others who live on an island to post, but nobody did, so I'm just following Veronique's lead and keeping this thread alive smiling smiley
