Bill Maher attacks 'smirk-face' Covington Catholic HS student

HBO’s Bill Maher attacked Covington Catholic High School students, blaming them for the viral encounter with a Native American activist. The talk show host also made a sex abuse joke about the teenagers and Catholic priests.

“I don’t blame the kid, the smirk-face kid. I blame lead poisoning and bad parenting. And, oh yeah, I blame the f*cking kid,” Maher said, referring to Nicholas Sandmann who was caught in the center of the controversy.

“What a little pr*ck. Smirk-face!” he added during the opening monologue of “Real Time with Bill Maher.” “This smirking kid says he was just trying to defuse the situation. Really? Next time you get into a fight ... try that.”

The comedian went on to say it was a “d*ck move” for Sandmann to stand in front of Nathan Phillips, the Native American elder, even though video footage shows Phillips approaching the group of students with a drum.

Philips initially claimed that the students blocked his exit and taunted him with abusive and racist chants, but he later changed his version of the events, saying he was trying to defuse the confrontation between the Black Hebrew Israelites who were shouting hateful comments towards the students.

Sandmann said he tried to remain “motionless and calm” in the face of Phillips to de-escalate the confrontation. He said he smiled at the protester “because I wanted him to know I was not going to become angry, intimidated or be provoked into a larger confrontation.”

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services employ one Jeffery R. DeRego. When provided the opportunity to remark on the Covington Catholic reporting from DC, he did. The NHDHHS Training and Development manager said,

Those rotten a**holes need to be punched in the face when they start that @#$%&, on camera, and driven away from normal society.

Is he training and developing that attitude at DHHS (a job he only just started last September) or is this just a Democrat thing? DeRego is a registered Democrat from Londonderry. In 2010, he ran for the State House (Rockingham 5) and lost.

Jeffrey may also be a fan of Mark Bray, a Dartmouth Professor who wrote a book glorifying premeditated violence and intimidation by groups like Antifa. Brey’s premise is that some speech needs to be silenced. Jeffrey believes these High School kids from Covington need to be silenced because that’s what you do to Nazis.

Runswitch PR was founded by CNN contributor Scott Jennings, a former adviser to McConnell and George W. Bush. Jennings currently advises a McConnell super PAC.

Sandmann’s supporters did not seem to contest accusations that the statement was authored by a PR firm, and instead insisted that it was perfectly normal that the boy’s narrative was outsourced to professionals, rather than being told in his own words.
