Date: March 06, 2012 02:29AM I like Leonard Cohen. His lyrics are a bit dark. I only have The Future, and I don't know his other stuff, but I like this album. Re: In Praise of Canada for the following exports:

Date: March 06, 2012 02:26PM I like his poetry, Dylan's too. I just wish they'd let somebody else sing it for them.
Cohen's son sounds a lot like him. His lyrics aren't as wonderful but if you like that music check him out sometime. Re: In Praise of Canada for the following exports:

Date: March 06, 2012 03:32PM I think Leonard Cohen is a phenomenal poet. As to his "singing": When I hear the first strained strains of his rendition of "Dance Me to the End of Love," I flee the room so fast furniture spins!
He's in good company--I feel the same way about Tom Waits's song stylings Re: In Praise of Canada for the following exports:

Date: March 06, 2012 03:46PM Oh Tom Waits, there's a certain sort of quirky irony to his "singing" that tickles the bizarre in me. I can listen for a little while, it sets the mood in movies very well too. A whole album though? Maude, have mercy! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
