Said it before and I'll say it again, get a dog! Worth all the effort for the work it will do in exchange, defending your pears from squirrels and such, lol.
Maybe you could foster one for a time instead, there are no-kill rescue agencies that are always looking for foster families for animals.

coco,

I truly do not have the lifestyle for a dog. Also, when I had one the squirrels weren't put off by him. None of the animals were, as though they were confident that what we consider our territory belonged to them. What comes of living adjacent to a watershed plain--the animalitos take over without so much as a "by your leave" smiling smiley

Today was in the upper 60s where I live but I was Downtown (close to Lake Michigan) most of the day so it was quite a shock to emerge from the train and feel so hot!

Darn those cheeky tree monkeys anyhow.

Snow flurries today, close to freezing tonight, very cold tomorrow (back into the winter coats my kiddies!).
We are gonna be hurtin' for local fruit this summer.

Weird non native weeds popping up all over the lawn, and, to my deep distress, a visitor noticed the first of the [invasive species] Box Elder bugs on my front stoop last week. Dagnabbit, a harsh winter is supposed to send them packing and/or stunt the maple trees' seed growing capacity so the bugs have no food. But because we had a really mild winter, that and that other thing didn't happen, so the bugs are back. They have probably infiltrated my aluminum siding at this point, and I suspect my attic is lined with thousands of them, ceiling to floor. The thought of this makes me go Aaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

80 degrees today...In April?! Not normal. We had hail last night and a couple of storms (probably the vestiges of the tornados in OK, MN and IA).
