quick review. Shorter and thinner than his other book "Redox Life" [www.rawfoodsupport.com] 247 pages

It may contain bias towards supplements (haven't read it yet) but it gives a whole view of life from a scientific point of view. I am npot promoting supplements (not evrybody is perfect). Take the good and leave the bad.

this is a remarkable book to have. The title of the book is a little misleading because the author expresses its theory of life here in the first chapter and subsequentaly. It enumerates all the theories of aging but the author does not have a Messiah complex like many gurus have. At the begining, the book is maybe a little too robotic as if comming from an inexperienced writer. But it gets better and you can tell this guy knows a lot. The minerals secctions are gold. It teaches so much that raw fooders could use. For example, things like the parathyroid (PTH) thyroid (calcitonin) homeostasis balance of calcium in the blood (matches the sea level) are very well explained. I've read about it before (like in "The China Study"winking smiley but not with colorful diagrams of how it works. You won't get this from reading scientific internet articles with numbo jumbo. I am planning to read this book three times at least. It has many nugets. The final thought is that you get a view of how things work from a combination of many factors like minerals, hormones, aging, etc. What more could you ask from a book?

hmmmm....maybe u could post some of the nuggets here

if u so desire

looks quite interesting

funny what u say about the "gurus" but

why have a "messiah complex"

when everyone is simply channeling from the same source

hmmm. There is a lot to tell. Maybe the biggest thing is the understanding of life as a cell intead of as a whole body (billions of cells). Cells can outlive the body. There are cells from a woman that died 50 years ago that are still alive in bottles. The mind emerges from cells and creates its own identity, but it is only a kind of byproduct. It is not the Thing on control. the cells are so small that the mind is usually not aware of them but they are the real ground for life. cells, not bodies, are the units of life. cells die and are reborn every day by the millions. Another point of view that may interest you is the one about energy. life is a transformation of energy that tries to fight disorder (entropy). cleaning your room and repairing your car or bicycle takes energy. But doing so makes you live longer.

Something related to raw food from the book:

"Molars can be reduced up to 82% smaller in size by eating cooked potatoe rather than raw. Human dietary habits have been evolved to be frugivores (eater of seeds, nuts, tubers, root nodules, leaf shooots and sprouts)>

Croooked and disoredered teeth may be the result of eating mushy cooked food."

vitamins and pills can never replace the consumption of natural foods.

here is something that survived and preceded mitotic division -

consciousness

cells are just a vessel for this nebulous thing called "awareness"

if you want to know how meticulously and intricately "consciousness" operates

just look at a cell or an aggregate of cells

consciousness is most definitely rife with "intelligence"

cells do not create consciousness

but consciousness createth the cells

whatever consciousness means
