This book can be very powerful and simple. It only has two concepts. Everybody could be viewed as inventory of core beliefs (1) plus set of phycological ruts (2). Core beliefs are those that seem to you as obvious but define how you react to situations (make you a prisioner). phychological ruts are internal monologues you are drawn to when encountering different situations (like anxiety). powerful book that could set you free by showing how you are. Used copies could be bought for pennnies yet offer a lot. Re: Prisioners of belief

Date: December 30, 2014 05:51PM Possibly relevant: I just watched a documentary titled "The Pervert's Guide to Ideology" narrated by Slavo Zizek. He had a lot of very interesting and provocative ideas about film as a compass for cultural mores.
I recommend it if you like to think deeply. His accent and manner of speech are kind of hard to follow, though. Here is the script: [www.springfieldspringfield.co.uk] I think his basic message is that if we have perverted dreams (ideals) we need to work on changing our dreams (ideals). The problem is that many of us do not realize how perverted our desires are until we have them fulfilled. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
