Date: June 23, 2015 01:20PM While I was already a long time veg, Forks Over Knives was one of the first of these types of documentaries I watched in over a decade. They are just too depressing, especially since FOK included animal abuse/torture in more aspects of 'our' daily lives than just the meat and fur industries. Specifically about the topic of animal-based foods though, the factory farming industry is awful and one of the most sadistic, depressing things humanity has ever come up with. All so people can eat meat, dairy and egg products (typically heavily processed and chock full of chemical additives, artificial hormones and antibiotics) 3 meals a day. Then everyone wonders why they are all sick.
Lets be totally realistic here, not everyone is going to go veg or vegan. Society isn't quite there yet. Still, even if people (who do not want to stop consuming animal products) simply cut back to 2 or 3 meat meals a week and maybe one non-vegan meal a day (eggs or dairy), it would make a HUGE impact on their personal health, the environment we ALL share, and would likely end the barbaric practices farm animals currently suffer through due to such unsustainably high demand. But even asking omnis to take a rational approach to animal products is too much for them Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/23/2015 01:23PM by Kiwibird. Date: June 23, 2015 03:19PM Meat eating is going the way of smoking, but instead of people totally quitting, and like Kiwibird said, they'll probably cut their meat consumption back to a couple times a week.
