Dr. Don Easterbrook: Let me answer your question now about all of these people who are the so-called consensus and you will see, I see every day quoted 97% of all scientists believe man-made CO2 Causes Global Warming. That’s a Fraudulent statement and the statement that there is a dominate consensus among scientists that CO2 is Causing Global Warming is Not based on any known fact.

Now let me show you where this number comes from and let me tell you where that oft quoted statement comes from. There was a graduate student who, this was in Indiana or Illinois, sent out 10,257 Questionnaires to Climate Scientists. He got 3,146 back - responses. Of those, he selected either 77 or 79 - I’m not quite sure the numbers - it doesn’t matter - that he hand picked out of these 3,000 responses and he asked those people, do you think CO2 is Causing Climate Change? And funny thing, all but 2 said yes because they were hand selected.

And so, the real number is that there were 77 or 75 Scientists out of 3,100 - Not out of 77 or 79. So if you divide this number over that number, you get 2%.

So the consensus that you’re hearing is 2% - Not 97%. 1:08:46 MM

Yes, that 97% rhetoric gets on my nerves. Everybody knows it's been proven to be bogus, yet the alarmists keep spouting it.

It reported the results of a two-question online survey of selected scientists. Mr. Doran and Ms. Zimmerman claimed "97 percent of climate scientists agree" that global temperatures have risen and that humans are a significant contributing factor.

The survey's questions don't reveal much of interest. Most scientists who are skeptical of catastrophic global warming nevertheless would answer "yes" to both questions. The survey was silent on whether the human impact is large enough to constitute a problem. Nor did it include solar scientists, space scientists, cosmologists, physicists, meteorologists or astronomers, who are the scientists most likely to be aware of natural causes of climate change.

The "97 percent" figure in the Zimmerman/Doran survey represents the views of only 79 respondents who listed climate science as an area of expertise and said they published more than half of their recent peer-reviewed papers on climate change. Seventy-nine scientists—of the 3,146 who responded to the survey—does not a consensus make.

We could go on, but the larger point is plain. There is no basis for the claim that 97% of scientists believe that man-made climate change is a dangerous problem."

Once we have come to have certain ideas about somthing,
we naturally dont like to admit later on that we were
mistaken.
Even though we may occasionally see that we are wrong,
we simply refuse to admit it.
Obstinacy of this sort is to be considered a major
obstacle to progress,
rendering us incapable of changing for the better,
incapable of modifying false convictions and other
longstanding beliefs.
This is likely to be a problem, It is a real world problem
Clinging to views and opinions is not difficult to detect and
identify once we do a little introspection.
Ever since we were born into the world, we have been receiving
instruction and training,
which has given rise to ideas and opinions.
In speaking here of opinions, what we have in mind is the kind
of ideas one hangs on to and refuses to let go of.
to cling to ones own ideas and oinions is quite natural and is
not normally condemned or disapproved of.
But my global warming denailist friends is a grave danger.
It can happen that preconceived ideas and opinions to
which we had always clung obstinately come to be destroyed.
For this reason it is necessary that we continually amend
our views, making them progressively more correct,
better, higher, changing false views into views that are
closer and closer to the truth, and ultimately into the
kind of views that incorporate Truth.
