There are a few, rare exceptions that abortion opponents tend to allow to their hard-line rules: rape, incest, life or health of the mother, and “I got my mistress pregnant.”

The most recent culprit in the category of anti-abortion double-think is Tim Murphy, a Pennsylvania Republican who on Thursday announced he would resign from his House seat this month. Two days before, Mr. Murphy had voted for a bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks on the medically dubious grounds that, at that age, a fetus can experience pain.

“I was proud both to sponsor and vote for this important bill to clearly stand for the dignity and value of all human life, both the born and the unborn,” Mr. Murphy wrote in a statement posted on his office’s Facebook page after the bill passed in the House.

Then The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published texts revealing that when Mr. Murphy’s mistress thought she was pregnant, he urged her to consider an abortion.





Sound familiar? Perhaps Mr. Murphy’s story calls to mind the Tennessee congressman Scott DesJarlais, who is similarly pro-life in the streets, pro-choice in the sheets.

In 2015, Mr. DesJarlais voted in favor of a 20-week ban, and boasted of a “100 percent pro-life voting record” while in Congress. Meanwhile, The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that he supported his ex-wife’s decision to have two abortions (no word on how far along she was) and encouraged a patient with whom he was having an affair to terminate her pregnancy as well. Like Mr. Murphy, he is a co-sponsor of the abortion bill that passed on Tuesday.

Nor are the double standards confined by America’s borders. In Britain, an anti-abortion member of Parliament named Jacob Rees-Mogg did not urge a mistress to end a pregnancy. Yay for him. Mr. Rees-Mogg, however, who opposes abortion even in cases of rape, runs an investment firm that has money in an Indonesian pharmaceutical company that sells abortifacients “widely used in illegal abortions in Indonesia,” according to the British newspaper The Independent.

It’s a child, not a choice, abortion opponents tell us. Unless the pregnancy is embarrassing and super-inconvenient and an impediment to your political future, in which case it’s merely a clump of cells. All life should be cherished and protected, as Mr. DesJarlais’s website insists, unless it’s your girlfriend who’s unexpectedly expecting, in which case you’ve got to cherish and protect your political future instead. Life begins at conception, as Mr. Rees-Mogg said in a debate, unless that life begins inside of a poor brown-skinned woman half a world away, and there’s money to be made from helping her to end it.

It’s almost as if these men don’t really believe that every time sperm and egg combine, the result is a child worthy of being cherished and protected. It’s almost as if these men are fighting to make abortion a crime because they’re more invested in curtailing women’s options and controlling their bodies than they are with saving innocent lives.

The double standards employed by some members of the “do as I say, not as I do” Christian right are nothing new. Show me a senator who votes against gay marriage, and, at least in one infamous case, I’ll show you a guy who’s soliciting same-sex encounters in the airport men’s room. (Hello there, Larry Craig!)

Show me another Republican senator who made his name as a “pro-family advocate” and I’ll show you a guy whose phone number showed up in a Washington madam’s little black book. (Howdy, David Vitter!)

Show me the far-right speaker of the House, a man with perfect scores from the National Right to Life Committee and the Christian Coalition, and I’ll show you a guy who, as a high-school wrestling coach, set up a chair in front of the boys’ shower the better to ogle his protégés, and who was eventually jailed as a serial child molester. (Dennis Hastert, come on down!)





We’ve been down this road of duplicity before. The televangelist who prayed, alongside his wife, for the return of traditional morals, admitted to having sex with — and was accused of rape by — a 21-year-old church secretary, and found to have paid her $279,000. The congressman who voted for the Defense of Marriage Act was sexting with his underage male pages.

Scandals roll by so frequently that there is, by now, an expected script: the shocking revelation, the tearful confession, the up-from-the-ashes reinstatement plea or re-election campaign, garlanded with declarations of “God/my wife/Willie Robertson, star of ‘Duck Dynasty’ has forgiven me, why can’t you?” Perhaps the most shocking part of Mr. Murphy’s story is that he elected to quit, rather than scream “Fake news!” or sit back and wait for a new story to eclipse his hypocrisy, as Mr. DesJarlais did.

But what Mr. Murphy’s moral flexibility ultimately reveals is that, for these particular hard-line anti-abortion politicians, it’s not about fetal pain or the sanctity of life. It’s all about control — whether you’re telling a woman she can’t have an abortion, or forcing a woman to get one.

When Mr. Rees-Mogg was asked how he could oppose abortion as a lawmaker but support it as an investor, he told The Sunday Mirror, “It would be wrong to pretend that I like it, but the world is not always what you want it to be.”

Don’t we women know it.

Armchair Subversive posts a long list of Republicans who have been charged, arrested, or even pleaded guilty to molesting children or teenagers and related crimes:
Republican aide, Alan David Berlin, was arrested on charges that he wanted to engage in sex acts with a 15 year old boy while dressed in a panda costume.
Fox News producer Aaron Bruns pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years for possessing child pornography.
Republican activist and former presidential campaign chairman Jeffrey Claude Bartleson was arrested on charges of sexually molesting a 5-year old boy.
Republican activist and former chairman of the Christian County Republicans Royce Fessenden pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree statutory sodomy.
Republican parole board officer and former legislator George Christian (Chris) Ortloff pleaded guilty to attempting to lure 11- and 12-year-old girls to have sex with him.

Former Sen. Brock Adams. The late Washington Democrat was forced to stop campaigning after numerous accusations of drugging, assault and rape, the first surfacing in 1988.
Former Rep. Fred Richmond. This New York Democrat was arrested in 1978 for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old. He remained in Congress and won re-election—before eventually resigning in 1982 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and drug possession.
Former Rep. John Young. The late Texas Democrat increased the salary of a staffer after she gave in to his sexual advances. The congressman won re-election in 1976 but lost two years later.
Former Rep. Wayne Hays. The late Ohio Democrat hired an unqualified secretary reportedly for sexual acts. Although he resigned from Congress.
Former Rep. Mel Reynolds. The Illinois Democrat was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault with a 16-year-old.
Sen. Teddy Kennedy. The liberal Massachusetts senator testified in defense of nephew accused of rape, invoking his family history to win over the jury in 1991.

Armchair Subversive claims “Republican Values Create Child Molesters.” If Republicans are indeed more likely to molest children, that’s still a cum hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy–for instance, child molesters may simply tend to be more attracted to the Republican party for some reason.
But if Republicans are indeed more likely to molest children, is there something about the idolization of money that mixes well with the desire to literally @#$%& the innocent and less powerful?

Representative Brenda Lawrence, the Democrat from Michigan, recently introduced legislation requiring congressional staff to undergo sexual harassment training, She is now being called a hypocrite for keeping a known harasser on staff after three former female aides told Politico they had informed the congresswoman that chief of staff Dwayne Duron Marshall behaved inappropriately toward them.

All three aides said they had even explicitly told Lawrence about Marshall. Two quit because of his behavior, they said. Marshall remains Lawrence’s chief of staff.

Lady Bird was a major stock holder of Brown &Root which was bought out by and became Haliburton in which Lady Bird held major interest to this day in. Not mentioning that Houston Control (exact duplicate of cape canavarel sp.), was built by B&R and ordered by Johnson. It soon became the largest construction company in the USA.

At the height of the resistance to the war, Brown & Root became a target of protesters, and soldiers in Vietnam derided it as Burn & Loot.

Reports that President Trump issued an order authorizing the United States Treasury to freeze the assets of two former First Families are fake news.

On 20 December 2017, President Donald Trump signed Executive Order 13818, “Blocking the Property of Persons Involved in Serious Human Rights Abuse or Corruption.”
That executive order declared “a national emergency with respect to serious human rights abuse and corruption around the world” and provided “for the imposition of sanctions on actors engaged in these malign activities.” The order also authorized the U.S. Treasury to freeze the assets of persons “who commit serious human rights abuse or engage in corruption”:
“Today, the United States is taking a strong stand against human rights abuse and corruption globally by shutting these bad actors out of the U.S. financial system. Treasury is freezing their assets and publicly denouncing the egregious acts they’ve committed, sending a message that there is a steep price to pay for their misdeeds,” said Secretary of the Treasury Steven T. Mnuchin. “At the direction of President Trump, Treasury and our interagency partners will continue to take decisive and impactful actions to hold accountable those who abuse human rights, perpetrate corruption, and undermine American ideals.”
Specifically, it mandated that “all property and interests in property that are in the United States” belonging to persons identified in the order “are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in.” The order listed thirteen individuals (all of them foreign nationals) and also allowed for the U.S. Treasury to freeze the assets of “any foreign person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury … to be responsible for or complicit in, or to have directly or indirectly engaged in, serious human rights abuse” as well as the assets of “current or former government official” who have engaged in “corruption.”
Shortly after the issuance of EO 13818, the web site Your News Wire published an article about it under the inaccurate and grossly misleading clickbait headline “Trump Signs Executive Order To Seize Assets Of Clinton & Obama,” with an opening sentence declaring that “President Donald Trump has signed an executive order allowing federal agents to seize the assets of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.” Nothing in EO 13818 specifically authorized the U.S. government to seize any assets belonging to former Presidents Obama or Clinton, nor did the text of the Your News Wire article provide any information supporting the premise of its false headline and lede.
Executive Order 13818 is directed at thirteen foreign nationals identified in its Annex, as well as other “foreign persons,” two groups that do not include the Obamas or the Clintons. The order does more generally allow the U.S. Treasury to freeze the assets of “any person” who has “materially assisted … foreign person” in the conduction of “human rights abuse” or government “corruption.” In an extremely vague and broad sense, those provisions could conceivably apply to the Clintons or Obamas … or anyone else in the world. Nonetheless, the order doesn’t mention any Obama or Clinton by name, it doesn’t specifically target them (it’s primarily aimed at foreign nationals and entities), and nothing in the Trump administration’s announcement of the order suggested it could or would be applied to them:Order 13818 was to be expected, as it originated with Your News Wire, a fake news site that peddles in sensationalized and fabricated clickbait stories

I have more than one friend who had to have monitor on ankle,
First off its not a boot I saw the pictures of the big boot and that told its just nonsense. Google what ankle monitors look like.

Besides if it were true it would be front page around the world.You would not be able to bury that kind of news!

The site is a prolific source of clickbait "news" articles, telling a particular section of the public what they want to hear. From what I've seen, they direct their baits at progressives and left-wingers, and particularly supporters of Bernie Sanders. They play on the wishful thinking of these people, and watch the views and shares roll in. But, rarely do I see one of their low-content, poorly written articles contain any evidence to support their claims. I'm speaking as someone who is a Berner (now Jill supporter) whose just seen way too much unsubstantiated clickbait from them.

Meanwhile, Snopes might be arguing more definitive definition of rigged (suppressed votes, voter fraud). Still, even in the Your News Wire article and the Sanders Facebook update it cites, there is no mention of a Hillary un-endorsement.

A small group of morally-challenged individuals have discovered that there is a great deal of money to be made by publishing fake news articles. These rags publish ridiculous headlines like “Monsanto is Killing Your Children”, “Ukrainians Worship the Devil”, and “Hillary Clinton’s Secret Affair with Vladimir Putin”. These inflammatory headlines are then promoted though social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The owners of these sites make money from ads that display on their sites when people read the articles. It appears that the more inflammatory and unbelievable the headline, the better it spreads through social media. Debunking these stories can be almost impossible, as the “facts” they contain are unverifiable and therefore unfalsifiable. Although there is no evidence that Hillary Clinton is having an affair with Vladimir Putin, there is also not evidence that she is not having an affair with Vladimir Putin.
A few of these web sites may be run by truly insane people who actually believe what they publish, but if so that is a small minority. One of the proofs of this is how obviously fake the articles are. Old and heavily debunked articles from several years age are routinely updated with new dates and names and republished as new stories. Some site owners may believe that they are trying to shift public opinion by convincing the public to believe outrageous lies. Followers of this Overton Window theory believe that by making wildly unbelievable and bombastic claims, their slightly less unbelievable claims will feel more acceptable to readers. While this certainly may be true, that does not make it a morally acceptable strategy for discussing public policy. Other site owners may feel that they are simply “talking to their base” and that this relieves them of any moral duty to tell the truth. This is a reflection of the sad state of moral thinking in our society today. A few sites claim to be “humor” or “satire” sites and exist mainly to provide links which people can use to fool unsuspecting victims on social media. These sites will sometimes post a disclaimer in the site footer, but often these disclaimers will disappear and reappear over time. A small number of sites on our list are simply government-funded propaganda sites which post ridiculous claims from tyrannical governments which want to improve their public image or attack the public images of their opponents.
The sites on the list below are a mix of all of these types of sites. Strict categorization is not simple as many of these sites exist in multiple categories or switch between categories based upon whatever proves to be most profitable at the current time.

I am surprised that zerohedge.com, drudgereport.com, and www.whatdoesitmean.com are not on the "fake news" list.

Some of the alt media, like veteranstoday, infowars, and the young turks are the controlled opposition. breitbarts may also be controlled, as I am suspicious of any media that is pro zionist.

The last part of this legal definition says that what we are hearing is outside the law-

SEALED INDICTMENT LAW AND DEFINITION

An indictment is a formal accusation of a felony, issued by a grand jury based upon a proposed charge, witnesses' testimony and other evidence presented by the public prosecutor (District Attorney). It is the grand jury's determination that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial voted by a grand jury. In order to issue an indictment, the grand jury doesn't make a determination of guilt, but only the probability that a crime was committed, that the accused person did it and that he/she should be tried. District Attorneys do not present a full case to the grand jury, but often only introduce key facts sufficient to show the probability that the accused committed a crime.

You can discover the sealed indictments on the pacer.gov website, if you search a particular court, say like California Central District. These indictment are sealed, so there is no way for anyone to find out who the defendants are, or what crimes are being charged. Thus they remain sealed and not revealed. The only thing that is revealed by the pacer.gov website is the number of indictments in a given court.

The reason these indictments are sealed is because each one can lead to flipping the defendant to get even more criminals. If the criminals name were to become public, their associates would know they needed to flee the country.

The number of sealed indictments at the end of November was 4,000. Now it is over 10,000. This is pretty cool!
