Another Right-Wing "Conspiracy Theory" Proven True

Yup, in March it started with Mark Levin - one of my favorite 'Right-Wing Radio Talk Show Hosts' - lol

Birth of a conspiracy theory: How Trump's wiretap claim got started

March 6, 2017

Of course the Libs labeled it a "Conspiracy Theory"...

"An incendiary idea first put forward by right-wing radio host Mark Levin is now burning across Washington, fanned by President Trump's tweets and a huge number of supportive commentators and websites -- even though the facts don't back up the conclusion.

Breitbart News has given the conspiracy theory a name: "DeepStateGate." Others are going with "ObamaGate." And Fox News host Sean Hannity is asking: "What did OBAMA know and when did he know it???" "

(Mainstream Lib Media - deny, deny, deny)

"There is no evidence to back up this theory. While the government has been investigating Russian attempts to interfere with the election, a spokesman for Obama called any suggestion that Obama or any White House official ordered surveillance against Trump "simply false." "

Levin continued to press the case on Sunday through an appearance on Fox and a steady stream of social media posts.

He dismissed skeptical news reports as "fake news" and insulted individual journalists who disagreed with him.

In an email conversation with CNNMoney, Levin asserted that "the public record is damning of the Obama administration."

"It was investigating the campaign of a presidential candidate of an opposing party during the course of the campaign. Its use of FISA, loosening of NSA distribution requirements, husbanding and protecting information at the behest of White House staff on the way out the door, and recent leaks of confidential and perhaps classified information is extraordinary," he wrote.

"Everything I just said is based on media reports, including and especially the New York Times," he added. "It's time to get to the bottom of the extent of what took place in the Obama administration and who was involved. If Obama had no idea about any of this, then he must not have read the newspapers during his presidency, since some of it was public while he was president."

So now we have - LEVINdication -

LEVINdication: Mark Levin, the Nunes memo, and the Praetorian Guard media
The Nunes memo exposes to the light of day what the pathetic media called a “conspiracy theory.”

Months ago, CRTV host Mark Levin declared that a “silent coup” was being attempted by members of the Obama administration against President Donald Trump. Leaks of classified intelligence to the media were plaguing the Trump administration. Questions of Russian collusion dominated the headlines, but Levin insisted something far more nefarious was afoot. How was the intelligence obtained that was being leaked to the media about members of the Trump campaign?

Levin, a constitutional attorney and former chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese, laid out an “overwhelming” case, based on public reports in the media, that the Obama administration had spied on members of the Trump campaign and Trump transition team.

(Video at link - [www.conservativereview.com] )

“This is about the Obama administration spying, and the question is not whether it spied. We know they went to the FISA court twice. The question is who they did spy on and the extent of the spying, that is the Trump campaign, the Trump transition, Trump surrogates,” Levin said on the Sunday edition of “Fox & Friends.”

The media claimed Levin advanced his surveillance claims “without evidence.” His claims were erroneously conflated with President Trump’s claim that Trump Tower had been wiretapped. Levin’s character was maligned as he was accused of “trying to confound everyone who listens to him.” He suffered ad hominem attacks and accusations of being a conspiracy theorist.

Levin, of course, was right. It is an indisputable fact that the Obama administration obtained a FISA court warrant and surveilled the Trump campaign and members of the Trump transition team. We now know, thanks to the work of Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., on the House Intelligence Committee, that not only was a FISA warrant obtained to spy on the Trump campaign during the election, but also that the warrant was obtained with unsubstantiated information provided by politically motivated actors and that the shady source of the information was concealed from the court.

The memorandum put together by Rep. Nunes summarizing his committee investigation’s findings shows that the FBI and the DOJ misrepresented to the FISA court the grounds for a warrant to surveil Trump foreign policy advisor Carter Page. The Nunes memo found that there were concerns with “the legitimacy and legality” of the FBI’s FISA warrant application. The issues ultimately “represent a troubling breakdown of legal processes established to protect the American people from abuses related to the FISA process.”

Namely, the Fusion GPS dossier compiled by Christopher Steele — research that was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee — was the “essential part of the Carter Page FISA application.” The FISA court was not informed by the FBI that this research was put together on behalf of partisan political operatives during an election. Further, the FBI did not verify the claims in the dossier — despite credible claims that the information contained in the dossier was faked — and the FBI did not disclose that Steele, a committed partisan, had told then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr that he “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president.”

According to the memo, FBI Deputy Director McCabe testified to the House Intelligence Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been granted by the FISA court without the Steele dossier information. Without this misrepresented information, the memo claims there would have been no case to spy on the Trump campaign.

This is a bombshell revelation that not only confirms, again, that Levin was right about the Obama administration’s spying, but also suggests that the spying was illegitimate from the beginning. It would appear that the Obama administration weaponized the FBI for political purposes to gather surveillance on Trump, surveillance that was then leaked to influence the outcome of the 2016 election and later to undermine the Trump presidency.

The Democratic Party and the intelligence agencies of the federal government then attempted to block the publication of Nunes’ memo. Democrats falsely claimed that the memo contained sensitive national security information that compromised FBI “sources and methods.” The DOJ petitioned President Trump to redact the names mentioned in the memo. With the memo’s full declassification, it is apparent that both the Democrats and the DOJ were lying about this memo’s sensitivity, as there is no information contained in these pages that endangers national security. It would seem the Democrats and the DOJ were acting to cover up evidence of the Obama administration’s surveillance abuses.

The same media that once called Mark Levin a conspiracy theorist was complicit in the Democrats’ attempts to block this memo’s publication. Nunes’ character was assassinated, with MSNBC’s John Heilemann going so far as to ask if he was a “Russian agent.” The FBI’s unfounded condemnation of the memo went unchallenged by the fourth estate.

Rather than seeking the truth, the media thoughtlessly reprinted partisan claims about the memo and attacked both Rep. Nunes for compiling it and President Trump for declassifying it. In attacking Mark Levin, the Nunes memo, and President Trump, the media has consistently fulfilled its role not as journalists but as members of a Praetorian Guard to shield the Obama administration and the Democratic Party from scandal.
