Maybe the veterans should team up with the kids and disarm this gun culture.

300 million guns in America are we safe yet? Zippy

This NRA crowd are nothing but terrorist.

I agree with this student from FLa High school Adults have failed the chidren with their Steel tip NRA gun culture.

“I want to end gun violence,” Sara told HuffPost, adding that she thinks adults and lawmakers have “absolutely” failed her generation.
“They don’t pay attention to our voice and we’re really tired of staying silent,” she said. “We are the future. We’re trying to make it but we can’t do it if they’re not listening.”

The ar-15 should be banned. Just seen a great documentary on it's inventor and he said it was never ever meant to be in the hands of consumers! The AR-15 is nothing more than a M-16 on our streets in the name of a sporting gun; it is a weapon of war! They say this is a semi-automatic weapon yet they sell the part for around $100.00 to make it fully automatic in gun shows and stores. The military suggests to soldiers to keep it in semi-automatic mode for better accuracy. The NRA and NSS got this gun on the market because of lax gun laws

along with tremendous lobby dollars. This gun is responsible for so many mass murders! The right wing supports by the NRA lobby dollars and would actually curb first amendment rights of Islamic people etc before losing their profits on it so they constantly talk about second amendment rights. This gun is an assault weapon of war! This gun is being used in mass murders! Should we be allowed to own tanks or grenades or nuclear bombs in the name of the second amendment? Gun control is essential! It is so hypocritical to put more laws on people to vote while selling guns without responsibility. Stand up and fight! Lets get assault weapons off the streets. This last killer who shot 103 people killing 50 walked into a store less than a week before who committed mass murder and purchased one of theses weapons of war! Fight the sick lobby dollars controlling this issue from the NRA in our government and stand up against the rightwing mass murder policy in our country! Lets get these weapons of war banned.

Time to disarm this gun culture!

Nope, ownership of the AR-15 is mandated by the Constitution -

"The true meaning of the Second Amendment can only be found when one first reads Federalist Paper #46 by James Madison and then Chief Justice James Clarke McRenyolds in his decision on U.S. v MIller, the case that cemented the National Firearms Act of 1934. McRenyolds upheld the conviction of Miller's violation of the act by carrying a sawed-off shotgun across state lines and stated that a sawed-off shotgun of the like Miller carried was not covered by the Second Amendment because it was not a weapon that was used by the contemporary military. Therefore, it can be construed that an AR-15 and its cousins, the M-16 and M-4 are covered by the Second Amendment since they ARE used by the contemporary military. Thusly, if there is a weapon whose ownership is mandated by the Constitution, it is the AR-15."

Cripes, are you a Communist! You would disarm the citizens of the United States! You confiscate the guns of all law-abiding citizens of America so they would be sitting ducks for the criminals and murderers and psychos, and The Government!

So we would be totally defenseless against all criminals, murders, rapists, thieves, gangs and psychos.

So we would be totally defenseless against The Government!

Gun Confiscation History Lesson -

* In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. This doesn't include the 30 million 'Uncle Joe' starved to death in the Ukraine.

* In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, leaving a populace unable to defend itself against the Gestapo and SS. Hundreds of thousands died as a result.

* China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. The total dead are said to be 2-3 million

* Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, 1-2 million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million at a bare minimum.

* Gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results:

Australia-wide, homicides went up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults went up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies went up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns.

It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too.

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady DECREASE in armed robbery with firearms, that changed drastically upward in the first year after gun confiscation...since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

“So when do we change?”

Gun Owner Destroys His AR-15 On Viral Video: ‘It’s Not Worth A Single Life’
“When do we say a weapon like this isn’t acceptable?” asks Scott Pappalardo.
By Mary Papenfuss

A video gone viral features a New York gun owner who cuts up his AR-15 military-style assault rifle because it’s time to make a change.
Scott Pappalardo’s AR-15 is the same kind of weapon used in the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17 people and injured 15 last week.
“I’ll be honest, it’s a lot of fun to shoot,” Pappalardo acknowledges on the video posted on his Facebook page and viewed 13 million times by Monday evening. “I’ve never killed anything with it except a bunch of targets.”
Pappalardo recalls that, after the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, that killed 20 young children and six adults, he told his wife, “I’d gladly give this gun up if it would save the life of just one child.”
Since Sandy Hook, there have been hundreds of school shootings, and “17 more lives lost” last week at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Pappalardo notes.
“So when do we change?” he asks on the video as he sits on the deck of his home. “When do we make laws that say a weapon like this isn’t acceptable in today’s society? ... Is the right to own this weapon more important than someone’s life? ... I don’t think so.”
He then saws his gun in pieces after vowing, “I’m going to make sure his weapon will never be able to take a life.” He expresses a hope that someone will see his video and say, “Maybe I’ll do the same thing.”
Pappalardo headlines his video “My Drop in a Very Large Bucket,” and he displays a photo of his cut-up gun under the label “#oneless,” which he is hoping will become a trend.

Scott Pappalardo/Facebook
Pappalardo has owned his legally registered AR-15 for 30 years and is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. He has a tattoo on his arm that says “the right to keep and bear arms” (which he says was legible when he got it 30 years ago).

Delaney Tarr, another student survivor, added that that amount of support they’ve been receiving is “so overwhelming.”
“We are being given this platform and it felt wrong not to take advantage of it,” she said.

A group of Douglas students became unlikely yet powerful spokespersons for gun reform after Nikolas Cruz, one of their former classmates, shot and killed 17 people.
They stormed Florida’s capital, Tallahassee, on Monday to lobby local lawmakers on gun reform measures, and began organizing a nationwide march to be held next month to demand that national legislators work to end gun violence.
Abzug said he came up with a three-point plan that he brought to his state representatives on Monday. It includes a plan to ban assault weapons, the creation of an agency in each state that facilitates interaction between the FBI and local law enforcement, and the mandatory placement of psychologists in every school to “boost the morale of students so that people who are young don’t grow up to be so hateful of the world.”

Plain and simple -

The Media is exploiting kids to advance an agenda - the Liberal/Leftist Agenda of Disarming Law-Abiding Americans/Gun Confiscation.

So all of American will be a "Gun-Free Zone" - cause that's where the mass shootings take place. So the Criminals/Rapists/Murderers/Gangs/Thieves/Rapists and Psychos can run amok because they'll get guns or kill one way or another. Evil will be armed and regular people who want to protect themselves and their families will be defenseless.

That's what the Libs want and that's what the ignorant kids want.

Parkland High School Student: Media Politicizing Tragedy To Push Gun Control, Not Focusing On Students

In an interview with The Daily Wire, a student from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida said on Sunday that he thinks the media is politicizing the recent shooting at his high school instead of focusing on the students who lost their lives.

Brandon Minoff, who previously appeared on MSNBC and CNN to discuss the shooting, told The Daily Wire on Sunday that he thinks the media is using the shooting as an opportunity to push for gun control more than they are reporting the facts as neutral observers.

"I think it’s the media," Minoff said, referring to whom he believes is promoting the gun control narrative in response to the shooting. "They exploit everything to make it political. They’re more concerned about gun control at this moment rather than the fact that there were 17 people that were killed."

Minoff, who hopes to meet President Donald Trump to discuss the issue, said that he thinks there should be limits and restrictions on guns but is upset to see how the media is covering the tragedy.

"It pains me to see that knowing that 17 of my classmates are dead and they just want to talk about gun control," he continued. "Students have opinions, they say stuff that they’re against guns, and that gun control is necessary, but they’re making it bigger than it needs to be at this moment."

When asked if lawmakers should aim to pass more legislation to try to prevent tragedies like this from occurring in the future, he said that if lawmakers do pass legislation it needs to be something that is effective and "helpful" at fixing the situation, but added, "I don’t know how effective that is."

"You can’t drink until you’re 21, but that doesn't stop kids from drinking," he noted. "I don’t know if there is a way to stop it. There is a way around anything."

Minoff said that he "definitely" thinks that schools should have armed security guards, a comment he made while discussing football coach and security guard Aaron Feis, who was killed as he shielded students from the shooter.

"If coach Feis would have had a gun or any of the other security guards would have had a gun it definitely would have been less fatal," he said. "[The shooter] and coach Feis were face-to-face and he just shielded kids instead of having the ability to kill the shooter."

Jennifer you say the children are Regurgitating.

That's just disgusting and false. blame the victims yeh.

With more guns than people in the USA, Like you said Jenifer only one tenth of 300 million plus are used in crime do you see a problem?

The irony is that most gun owners argue that they only need them for defensive purposes - to 'protect' themselves and their families (by killing people?) . They share the same confident ignorance of those who strap explosives to their bodies in the name of freedom.

The NRA and Right wing nuts want you to believe Drugs are the problem,Mental Illness, \

If the facts where not twisted, Blaming mental illness, Drugs,
You would see there is no way out of the shooting gallery ecept gun control.
Alcohol abuse causes more gun deaths than drugies by a long shot.
With a bar every 20 foot in America this will not change.

NRA and right wing nut spin dont talk about the alcohol part

Alcohol Abuse Is a Major Predictor for Gun Crime

A third of firearm buyers with prior alcohol convictions went on to commit a violent or firearm-related offense, a new study finds.

Gun owners who have been convicted of an alcohol-related offense, such as driving under the influence or drunk and disorderly conduct, are up to five times as likely to be arrested for a violent or firearm-related crime than those who have not, new research shows.

The study, conducted by researchers from the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University of California, Davis, found that a conviction for a crime involving alcohol is a much greater indication of future violent behavior than a conviction for almost any other offense — including other violent ones.

“One finding that really struck me was that when you threw alcohol and other kinds of criminal activity into the mix, alcohol remained a strong predictor but the other forms of criminal activity did not,” said Garen Wintemute, the director of the program. “Alcohol was a more important predictor of future violence than prior violence was.”

The longitudinal study examined the criminal records of more than 4,000 gun owners in California who purchased a handgun from a licensed firearm dealer in 1977. During the following 14-year period, almost a third of buyers — 32.8 percent — with prior alcohol convictions went on to commit a violent or firearm-related crime.

Roughly 16 percent of those offenders were arrested for murder, rape, robbery, or aggravated assault — defined as Part I offenses by the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting standards.

Researchers found that gun owners with no criminal record at the time of obtaining a weapon were much less likely to commit a crime. Only 5.7 percent were arrested for a violent or gun-related crime, and only around 3 percent were charged with a serious violent offense.

While politicians and pundits have singled out mental health as a predictor of gun violence, a number of previous studies have linked alcohol consumption and criminality, especially when it comes to gun-related crimes. One 2013 paper found that 34 percent of gun homicide perpetrators had been drinking before they killed someone. Heavy alcohol consumption is also strongly linked with gun suicide and becoming a victim of gun violence.

Gun owners are also more likely than other people to over-consume alcohol, and according to Wintemute, anywhere from 8.9 to 11.7 million firearms owners binge drink in an average month. For men, dying from alcohol-related gun violence is as likely as dying from an alcohol-related motor vehicle crash.

Federal law does not prohibit individuals with a history of alcohol abuse or alcohol-related convictions from purchasing a firearm. While many states do give law-enforcement officials the right to revoke or deny concealed-carry permits from people who abuse alcohol, only a handful have laws that name alcohol abuse as a prohibitor for gun ownership. And those laws tend to be vague: In South Carolina, for example, individuals who fit the description of “habitual drunkard” are barred from owning or possessing a gun, though it’s unclear how often the rule is enforced.

“Not only are firearm injuries serious, but at the policy level, there’s widespread recognition that people who are intoxicated or alcohol abusers shouldn’t be using firearms,” Wintemute said. “But our laws haven’t kept pace with our thinking, so we are with firearms and alcohol where we were with motor vehicles and alcohol, let’s say, 60 years ago.”

To conduct their study, the UC Davis researchers randomly selected and followed 4,066 California gun owners who legally purchased a handgun in 1977. Of those subjects, just over 31 percent had alcohol-related criminal convictions at the time of their purchase, primarily for driving under the influence.

Crimes were only defined as “alcohol-related” if they directly centered around the person doing something illegal under the influence of alcohol. Subjects were excluded if their arrest for alcohol misuse was largely circumstantial, such as having an open container while driving.

The study subjects were observed from the first day they could legally pick up their handgun — 15 days after they made the purchase, at the time the study started — to the end of 1991. After that period, researchers calculated the relative risk of arrest for subjects with and without previous alcohol convictions.

Ultimately, a prior alcohol conviction proved to be a stronger risk factor for gun violence than age, gender, or history of prior violent behavior.

Even more surprisingly, researchers found that there was no correlation between the number of past alcohol-related convictions and the risk of future arrest.

“It was so unexpected that we basically took the entire study down to bare metal and we rechecked our data, we re-looked at all our programming, we tried some alternative ways of doing the models, and we kept coming up with the same thing,” Wintemute said.

The study’s researchers noted a number of potential limitations too. It’s possible, for example, that a small number of DUI convictions may have been attributed to impairment from drugs other than alcohol. In 1977, the year the study began, California’s DUI law still applied to drivers under the influence of alcohol or alcohol combined with other drugs (though it’s likely that under 3 percent of all DUI arrests were negligibly related to alcohol during that period, based on annual reports from the California Department of Motor Vehicles).

The data from the study are also more than 20 years old, something Wintemute acknowledged. Researchers first collected the numbers for an article published in 1998, which examined prior misdemeanor convictions as a risk factor for future violence by handgun purchasers. The new study is a secondary analysis of that data, and Wintemute and his colleagues are currently analyzing newer data from a contemporary longitudinal study, which follows handgun purchasers from 2001 to 2013.

“It’s a much bigger study, so we’ll be able to look more finely at predictors of risk,” Wintemute said. “We’ll be folding in community characteristics, to see the role they play, and for the first time, we’ll also examine what percentage of people who buy a gun have a criminal record.”

Ok, so why not ban alcohol instead of guns? Because Alcohol is the Root Cause of Gun crime. Guns are not the root cause of gun crime.

If Alcohol were the root cause of car accidents, would you ban cars? No.
If Alcohol were the root cause of spousal abuse, would you ban fists? No.
If Alcohol were the root cause of credit card debt, would you ban credit cards? No.
Etc. Get where I'm going with this...

And because you don't take away alcohol from responsible drinkers.

And you would not ban All Alcohol From Everybody.

Because if you took alcohol away from responsible drinkers, the alcoholics would still get ahold of alcohol and commit the same atrocities.

Get how stupid it is to take Everybody's Guns away. Everybody and Guns being the operative words.
