Lib Fake News on the Border Crisis

TIME Magazine's Shocking Cover Is A Total Lie.

This week, TIME magazine featured a picture of a crying illegal immigrant child on its cover. The child was supposedly separated from her parents; over her looms Donald Trump, smugly staring down at her.

There’s only one problem: the cover is total bull. It’s not just total bull because Trump hasn’t implemented a newly-developed policy of separating children from parents – that’s an operation of law under the Flores settlement as modified by a 2016 Ninth Circuit court ruling. It’s bull because this particular child wasn’t separated from her mother, her mother wasn’t fleeing persecution but did falsely claim asylum, her mother did put the child in danger, and Trump was targeted by the media for treating this mother and child exactly the same way the Obama administration would have.

Here’s the real story.

The little girl is from Honduras. She wasn’t separated from her mother; she was crying because her mother was crossing illegally into the United States and the little girl was “tired and thirsty,” according to Border Patrol.

The photo of a Honduran girl crying as she and her mom are detained in Texas has grabbed worldwide attention and come to symbolize the debate about separating kids from their parents. Only on @CBSThisMorning, the border agent shows us what happened moments before it was taken:

The Honduran toddler pictured sobbing in a pink jacket before U.S. President Donald Trump on an upcoming cover of Time magazine was not separated from her mother at the U.S. border, according to a man who says he is the girl's father… "My daughter has become a symbol of the ... separation of children at the U.S. border. She may have even touched President Trump's heart," Denis Valera told Reuters in a telephone interview. Valera said the little girl and her mother, Sandra Sanchez, have been detained together in the Texas border town of McAllen, where Sanchez has applied for asylum, and they were not separated after being detained near the border. Honduran deputy foreign minister Nelly Jerez confirmed Valera's version of events.

So, why did the mother take off for America? According to dad, she ditched her three other children because she wanted better economic opportunities.

Yet this photo was passed around endlessly, and was used by various human rights groups to raise cash for their anti-Trump efforts.

The media have spent the last several years believing that Americans dislike them only because President Trump has somehow manipulated them. That isn’t true. Trump merely took advantage of the fact that the media have utterly undermined their own credibility, and continue to do so each day. No wonder Trump loves the media: they’re doing him the favor of demonstrating their continuing bias by promoting actual fake news on a regular basis.

Here's the Real News Story on the Little Girl Crying at the Border - and her wonderful mother who abandoned her other children ...

EXCLUSIVE: 'They're together and safe': Father of Honduran two-year-old who became the face of family separation crisis reveals daughter was never separated from her mother, but the image of her in tears at U.S. border control ‘broke his heart’

Denis Javier Varela Hernandez spoke out about the status of his wife Sandra, 32, and daughter, Yanela, 2

Yanela became the face of the immigration crisis after a Getty photographer snapped a photo of her in tears

Speaking to DailyMail.com Hernandez said he has still not been in direct contact with his wife Sandra because he does not have a way of communicating

Denis said a Honduran official in the US told him that his wife and daughter are together and are doing 'fine'

Sandra was part of a group that were caught by Border Patrol agents after making their way across the Rio Grande river on a raft

She set out on her journey from Puerto Cortes, Honduras to the U.S. at 6am on June 3 and allegedly paid $6,000 for a coyote

Hernandez said he did not support his wife's decision to make the journey with their young daughter in her arms and never got to properly say goodbye

The father of the Honduran girl who became the face of the family separation crisis has revealed that he still has not been in touch with his wife or daughter but was happy to learn they are safe.

Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, 32, said that he had not heard from his wife Sandra, 32, who was with his two-year-old daughter Yanela Denise, for nearly three weeks until he saw the image of them being apprehended in Texas.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Hernandez, who lives in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, says that he was told on Wednesday by a Honduran official in the US that his wife and child are being detained at a family residential center in Texas but are together and are doing 'fine.'

'You can imagine how I felt when I saw that photo of my daughter. It broke my heart. It's difficult as a father to see that, but I know now that they are not in danger. They are safer now than when they were making that journey to the border,' he said.

Denis said his wife and daughter were never separated by border control agents and remain together.

Two-year-old Yanela, a Honduran asylum seeker, has become the face of the child separation crisis after she was photographed crying in McAllen, Texas, as Border Control agents searched her mother

A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has told DailyMail.com that Sandra had been previously been deported from the US in 2013.

The spokeswoman said that she was 'encountered by immigration officials in Hebbronville, Texas' in and sent back to Honduras 15 days later under 'expedited removal.'

Sandra current immigration proceedings are 'ongoing' and she is being housed at a family detention center in Texas.

Denis said that his wife had previously mentioned her wish to go to the United States for a 'better future' but did not tell him nor any of their family members that she was planning to make the trek.

'I didn't support it. I asked her, why? Why would she want to put our little girl through that? But it was her decision at the end of the day.'

He said that Sandra had always wanted to experience 'the American dream' and hoped to find a good job in the States.

Denis, who works as a captain at a port on the coast of Puerto Cortes, explained that things back home were fine but not great, and that his wife was seeking political asylum.

He said that Sandra set out on the 1,800-mile journey with the baby girl on June 3, at 6am, and he has not heard from her since.

'I never got the chance to say goodbye to my daughter and now all I can do is wait', he said, adding that he hopes they are either granted political asylum or are sent back home.

Yanela's father, Denis Javier Varela Hernandez (left), said that he had not heard from his daughter Yanela, one year and 11 months, and his wife for a month until he saw the image of them being apprehended

Denis says that he has not spoken to his wife or daughter since they left for their journey from Puerto Cortes, Honduras, to the US on June 3

'I don't have any resentment for my wife, but I do think it was irresponsible of her to take the baby with her in her arms because we don't know what could happen.'

The couple has three other children, son Wesly, 14, and daughters Cindy, 11, and Brianna, six.

'The kids see what's happening. They're a little worried but I don't try to bring it up that much. They know their mother and sister are safe now.'

Denis said that he believes the journey across the border is only worth it to some degree, and admits that it's not something he would ever consider.

He said he heard from friends that his wife paid $6,000 for a coyote - a term for someone who smuggles people across the border.

'I wouldn't risk my life for it. It's hard to find a good job here and that's why many people choose to leave. But I thank God that I have a good job here. And I would never risk my life making that journey.'

The heart-breaking photo was taken by Getty photographer John Moore close to midnight on the night of June 12 near McAllen, Texas, as the row over Donald Trump's separation of migrant parents and children escalated.

Denis said that he hopes to use the photo and his family's situation to help him reunite with his daughter.

'I don't want money, what I want is someone to tell me that my daughter is going to be OK.'

When asked about his views on Trump's border policy, Denis said: 'I've never seen it in a positive light the way others do. It violates human rights and children's rights. Separating children from their parents is just wrong. They are suffering and are traumatized.

'The laws need to be modified and we need to have a conversation. It's just not right.

'[Illegal] Immigration and drug smuggling across the United States border is never gonna stop. They can build a wall and it's never going to stop,' he said.

Sandra was part of a group that were caught by Border Patrol agents after making their way across the Rio Grande river on a raft.

Hernandez said that he had heard through family members that his wife and daughter had not actually been separated

Moore's photo showed Yanela crying on a dirt track as her mother is patted down by a Border Patrol agent.

For many the photo summed up the cruelty of Trump's 'zero tolerance' policy towards migrants which has caused 2,300 children to be separated from their mothers and fathers.

TIME magazine's July 2 cover features Yanela crying and looking up at President Donald Trump. The cover reads: 'Welcome to America'
But actually Yanela remained with her mother after she arrived in the US after making the perilous 1,800 mile journey North through Central America and Mexico,

TIME magazine later issued a clarification saying that the original version of its story accompanying the cover was wrong because Yanela ‘was not carried away screaming by Border Patrol Agents’.

TIME’s editor in chief Edward Felsenthal said in a statement that it stood behind the wider point which is that Yanela was ‘the most visible symbol of the ongoing immigration debate’

Among those who have Tweeted DailyMail.com’s story have been White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

She wrote: ‘It’s shameful that dems and the media exploited this photo of a little girl to push their agenda. She was not separated from her mom. The separation here is from the facts’.

Moore, who has worked on the border with Mexico for years and has won a Pulitzer for his photography, has said the the image of Yanela was the last one he took that night.

Speaking to People magazine he said that the girl's mother was the last to be searched and a female agent asked her to put Yanela down so she could pat her down.

Hernandez said that he wanted his wife and daughter to come home and that he would welcome them when they return

Hernandez said that Yanela (center in her mother's arms) is the youngest of four children and she was the only one that traveled with her mother, a decision that surprised him.

********

What the hell kind of 'mother' would abandon her husband who has a decent job and is taking decent care of his family - and risk her child like that so that she herself could get to America to get all the goodies she always wanted!

That should be the border stories here - what the hell kind of Parents - especially mothers! - would do these things to these children!

But No! It's all Trump and the Republican's Fault - no Individual Responsibility on the part of the Illegal Aliens. America should let in anybody and everybody in the whole world who wants to come, yet no other country does or is expected to - Total Hypocrisy of the whole Lib World!

You and I both know, deep in your heart, you agree with me. And I will prove it with one hypothetical scenario: you are alone in a closet of your home. There`s a bright red button. You can push that button and presto all Negroes and Jews and all other colored people are instantly removed from the North American continent and returned to their native countries. You`d push it, wouldn`t you whitey? See? See? See? in the final analysis, you agree with me. But of course, you wouldn`t do antything to bring that scenario about, or any other scenario favorable to your Race. Frazier Glenn Miller

Good job Jennifer. Ignore the 2300 children whom we know have been separated from their parents - some of them still in diapers - and focus on the one who wasn't separated. "That should be the border stories here". That one story (out of 2300) should be the border storeees? Really?

And I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find another 2 or 3.

So since the story of 1 Mom has now morphed into the storees of all Moms at the border, you ask, "what the hell kind of Parents - especially mothers! - would do these things to these children!"

Well, like maybe your Mom or your Grandmom, or great Grandmom or someone along that line (unless of course you're not actually a US citizen at all).

And guess what. Just for your information, all these Moms are Americans. I think you meant what kind of Mom would bring their kids to the US.

In reality though, I agree with Riverhouse. You can't really believe what you say.

If you're worried about these immigrants returning for their asylum hearing without being locked up, there are other solutions. Ankle bracelets for instance. And/or providing legal counsel to increase their chances for a successful hearing. One pilot program found that 99% of families (out of almost 1000) showed up for their hearings if they were assigned a social worker. Even without any assistance, 75% of those seeking asylum have shown up for their hearings.

At this point, there are border patrol personnel who are refusing to arrest the immigrants, and prosecutors are refusing to prosecute them.

This isn't about protecting our borders. This is about Trump wanting to show how tough he is on immigrants, especially after he never got sufficient legislative support for funding his "wall" - that the Mexicans were going to pay for (remember?). Or maybe he even thought he could grab a few thousand kids and hold them hostage until he got what he wanted. Who knows what goes on in the mind of someone evil enough to grab little kids like that.

Is your name really "Jennifer"? It sounds so sweet.

Yes, it's Insane - the Lies the Libs are spreading and the outrage directed at Trump and The Republicans when Obama and the Libs are responsible for the Border Crisis and Obama treated the children horrifically (as you can see of the 2014 photos of the illegals in cages, whereas the photos from Trump era are decent.)

It's insane the twisting of my words and verbal attacks directed at me while The Libs are ignoring the FACTS which clearly show the Libs and Lib Media Lying about the Border Crisis and covering for Obama.
