I'm msning with a friend in Brazil, in Portugues, with lots of help from my dictionary and verb conjugation book, drinking green tea chai from East is East cafe on West Broadway, listening to Bonnie Raitt on my cd player, looking outside to my backyard where I see beautiful colours of grass, leaves, lilacs, cedars, cherry tree - the whole landscape is green and pretty........wishing my neighbour's smoke didn't drift through my open windows,........watching the cherry branches move in the breeze, sitting here still in my granny nightie.......thinking about my son who left yesterday to work in the Yukon for 3 months, ........knowing I will soon forget all this and get to my work...

Right now I'm working on my Street Performer Monitor reports; two are done and I've got one to go. I monitor street performers in Harvard Square, Cambridge (mostly a positive thing where I make sure they're happy and not being drowned out by other, louder people, or harassed by store owners, etc.), and on Tuesday nights I have to write up my work reports and e-mail them to the Arts Council.

Thrilling, eh? Whee! ;-p

I read this yesterday and I thought 'I am going to wait til I am doing something cool today and remember it and come back and post'

My days are usually filled with small wonders and beauty and I love it.

It has been really dark and rainy for a few days. Yesterday there was a fairly good sized rain storm and after it passed my 6 year old and 2 year old and I went out and messed around. It was dark and very green out. Sometimes I feel like I live in a tropical jungle. We have some tame 'teenager' chickens that came up and let us pet them. The weeds in my flower bed were really sticking out because the rain made the dirt dark so I picked them all out. It was so easy to pull them because the ground was so wet. I wondered if you are supposed to pull weeds when the soil is wet. The kids were quietly playing in the mud while I was pulling weeds. It was so cool how quiet everything was. I could hear some mourning doves and that just made the moment even more magical. It felt like the whole world was relaxed and content.
