Well, this is my 2 cents --

I find it all very interesting, that's why I love that we can find out 'what's really happening' now, thanks to the internet. I just love reading all the news we don't hear from the Mainstream Media.

And I feel like I should be sharing and enlightening others. But it's just like with the RFD. If someone isn't interested or have a set mind on their own beliefs, I can't be bothered, so I back off.

But there are plenty of people who are receptive, so that's who I enjoy sharing my information with.

And I'd rather not feel hopeless, so that's why I've now become involved with the Ron Paul revolution. It makes me feel good to think that if enough people try hard enough, we can make a difference.

I know that elnatural is spending a huge amount of time trying to do all he can to help make this a better world by doing what he believes in, and spreading the word about Ron Paul to others.

Just like Sharrhan is devoted to making a difference with her Health Freedom actions.

But I understand that some people just plain aren't into politics. I wasn't until a few years ago, either. And others tend to be more spiritual-minded, and heal the world with their positive energy.

To each his own.

Too bad we don't have another forum for political discussion on here.

Lois,
I totally agree (and I, like you, wasn't interested in anything but meditation and healing for many years), but I want to add another viewpoint: perhaps the dichotomy between 'spirituality' and 'activism' (not so much politics) is a false one, and they go together and are part of one continuum rather than opposites that are at odds with one another. I'll go a step further and say that I suspect the only activists who really make a lasting positive difference are those who are coming from a place of spiritual groundedness or inspiration.

i want to say something
but now i don't know how to say it
so much has happened
some things very disconcerting
and they remain that way

and other things...
just want and do believe
that despite all that is happening
within, around me etc.

i am remaining steadfast
in knowing that i have a choice
to create something internally

and like sharhann said
that those who are truly the activists
cannot be so
without some "grounding" that comes from a source
that is unseen

this is important
because
when "rights" are being taken away

there are still some things
that cannot be taken away
those things are created within
unseen

those things are VERY important
those things are the SOURCE from wherein action can spring forth

and when things are still an uphill struggle
those unseen things are the things that will keep ones head above the water

it is something that belongs to you
it cannot be surveilled
it cannot be "tapped"
it cannot be "monitored"
it cannot be videotaped

it is wordless
but it is there

and it is so much more important now more than ever
to know that that freedom is within
and exists
when all other external freedoms have been taken away

and that is the true freedom
i say this out of sadness, concern
and out of hope as well

and i want happy news
as a way to take back that power
and to know that people can still create happiness
in the midst of the stunning and profound injustice and insidiousness
i want to hear about things that make people happy
because that will be a source of power
when the light starts dimming
from the onslaught

that is a nightmare
other people know what this nightmare is
more than others

people who have had their rights COMPLETELY stripped away
people who have died as a result

and there are others
and the spectrum runs the gamut

but there is still a source unseen
believe it
and you must create it

and you must keep it strong
because that is what you will dig into
when everything has been taken from you

when all else has failed you
the "happy news" is personal
it is what made you smile
what made you want to wake up
what gave you hope
what made you excited and passionate about living

it may make you remember who you really are

maybe what i am saying sounds strange
but i know more than you will ever know

what is going on
and it is not good

but what is within
IS

good

and one must focus on that
as one battles

otherwise
the battle is already lost
before it has begun

La
I don't think your hope is misplaced. I realy think that we are experiencing the extremes of both ends of the spectrum coming to a climax with regards to the light and dark right now.

It is so easy to only see the negative stuff which is consuming our world, but I believe that there is just as much good only it is more subtle.
It makes no demands for control or power so largely bypasses public attention, especialy the media which is directed by the manipulative elements of our society.

I feel that it is an underground movement which is building in strength and number and has just as much influence but is subtly hidden and will only become apparent when it reaches critical mass.

As you say, lets just keep focusing on being positive smiling smiley

wow, so much good stuff going on in this thread

In my life, I am so constantly frightened by the thought of taking actions that I KNOW I must take... I often take these actions anyway, DESPITE being scared... as a consequence, not only do I become less frightened (because I prove to myself that, for better or worse, I will live through what has just happened), but my life ACTUALLY GETS BETTER!!!

i hear ya friend!! for my whole adult life i have been afraid of being in the drivers seat on a freeway. i avoided it at all costs. i`d mapquest directions to avoid freeways...i wouldn`t drive on one. i was great being the passenger but not the driver. i kept praying that i would get over it because living in las vegas and being the mom and chauffeur of 2 young kids in various activities and being afraid to jump on the freeway was nuts. well one day i had a voice inside my head that told me to take the freeway...i didn`t hesitate i just did it and now my fear is gone! to prove it i embarked on a journey w/ my kids from vegas to san luis obispo california to visit my mom and sister. it does get so much better when you confront your fears smiling smiley

Hey Ver, I liked this one because it reminds me that it doesn't take a whole lot to make things happen. Used to be I never liked change, now I can't wait to see what glorious things will happen next!!!

Hey Patty, I buy my goji berries at the health food store, but I am sure you can get them online at any of the familiar raw online stores. I'm going to try the local asian market to see if they carry them any cheaper. I paid $18.00 a pound. I plan on keeping them as a part of my everday diet for the rest of my life! smiling smiley
