Who gambles?

I posted this on another forum. Just thought I'd post it here too just for variety of responses. smiling smiley

--------------------------

There seem to be some pretty intelligent people here. People who claim to understand deeply the workings of the universe. To me, understanding/comprehension of the nature of man (or for the even more advanced - women) can only be proven in ONE way - accurately predicting human behavior. And what good is being able to accurately predict human behavior if one doesn't profit from it?

I love gambling (and winning). It makes me feel alive. It brings out the best in me.

For me it is one of the most fun ways to make money. And with a charming personality you can help your "client" smile and give him fond memories even as you clean him out. I remember I used to gamble alot with a good friend of mine who was a little less realistic in his view of his skill set than I was. Usually it was games, speed chess (chess on a timer) mostly. I also appealed to his sense of revenge, and revenge that is not methodical and patient generally seems to backfire.

I need to find a new venture in which to sink or swim.

Thoughts?

I looooooooove gambling!!! But I like all kinds of games as well.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here tho.

Are you wondering what the best things to gamble on are?
I know I take my mom up to the indian casino about 3 times a year. The whole week before we go I visualize myself winning. I will close my eyes and see myself putting the money in and pulling the slot and then I see lights go off and hear bells ringing and I'm yelling, "I win, I win, I win!!!!!"
I redo that scene over and over every night before bed. Then when it's time to go gambling, I usually always win!!!!
The one or two times I didn't win, I really didn't get too much into the visualization thing. I don't know why, I guess I just didn't have the time to do it. But I do know that from now on I will always use the visualization technique. I really feel like it works.

So..............right now I am asking myself why don't I just go to the casino instead of working for a living!!! hahhahahhahah

OR....
are you looking for to take a gamble in business?
I usually have luck in selling things at the "trash n treasure" market space.
I used to buy stuff from B & F [bnfusa.com]

I always had good luck with selling that knife set you see up in the right hand corner. Umbrella's, the silver serving plates, stuff like that.
I also bought a bunch of kiddie stuff from some trading place. You know, stuff that's like $6-$9 a gross. Then I would put about 10 different items in bags and sell them for $1 each.

Another good gimmick for the internet would be to offer things for free to people and then charge for shipping and handling fees. Buy things for like .25 offer it free, they just have to mail you $2 for ship & handling. It costs you .25 + stamp + envelope.

I hope that kinda helps you a little.
Believe me, I've done alot of selling!!!
I was just gonna get into trying the free thing when I ended up opening the store, so I never did it so I can't really tell you how it worked out.
But my advice with anything would be not to invest too much money. Keep it simple until you see what sells.

Good Luck!!! and remember to

Think Positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Opinion:

-Gambling is like any other drama in life. CAN be exciting and fun - or detrimental when compulsive. Don't you think?

It messes up lives as much as hard drugs and alcohol for those who get addicted. I don't want to take the risk of getting addicted.

There are better ways to get that adrenaline rush. Competitive physical sports is one of them.

true ltf, although I really don't think mom would enjoy a good work out at age 84. hahahhahahahhahahha

I would think anyone could become addicted to anything should they allow themselves to do so. I enjoy occasional gambling as much as I enjoy an occasional movie - plain and simple !!! hahahahhahaha

The only card game I play for money currently is Magic the Gathering... I would maybe play poker, except that I'm not really sure I want to invest the time into it.

Gambling is a tax on people who are bad at math.

There are a few casino games where you can get
the odds at 50 / 50, if you know the right
roulette numbers to play or the right blackjack strategy.

I prefer to spend my time on activities that are
guaranteed to bring in money.

i gamble every time i buy a seed and put it in the ground, sometimes i gain and sometimes i loose. but i think gamblin with money in the normal ways it's done is stupid. I'd feel rotten taking someone's $$ if i hadn't provided them a reasonable service to earn it, couldn't live with myself. If i was stupid enough to do it, I'd have to go give it back.
