Grrr... Furious with my local newspaper over animal rights issues

I live in Vancouver, Canada, and I recently saw this article (which has comments enabled, as you can see): [www.canada.com]

The article is regarding a private members' bill (in our parliament - the Canadian federal legislature) trying to update (and toughen) our animal rights laws (which haven't been updated since 1892).

I submitted a comment in the late afternoon of February 12 in reply to the second from the bottom (which asked why the Liberal party didn't do anything about this issue when they were in power), saying basically that there have been MANY attempts to update the law, including during the recent Liberal reign, but efforts died on the vine due to concerns from, or on behalf of, factory farming interests (because the kinds of legislation that would give teeth to animal protection would make criminals out of intensive farming pracitioners).

The comment wasn't up by yesterday afternoon, so I posted another (slightly milder) version. That version isn't up either.

I don't know if it's because I'm not criticising the Liberals or because I'm bringing factory farming into it, but I'm so furious at the comment moderators for not posting it!!
