Date: February 27, 2008 06:40AM this is how people are supposed to act
all the time in touch totally with their environment this is how we act when we are first born curious wishing to interact with our environment touching things smelling things tasting things moving moving constantly moving not within the confines that are meted out to us ( in our crib) but crawling around and about everywhere then... little by little the cardboard perimeters come on dashing the curious fingers so they are crushed beneath our prim souls modulating how we walk how we talk how we do things made to learn a grammar and language that we had no part in creating wishing to break out constantly from this stultifying mode of life called civilization in a way she is free in a way she is laughing at us cuz we stopped being natural stopped being curious and wishing to explore and just became paper cut outs of corporate dementia Re: In my language

Date: February 27, 2008 06:46AM okay maybe i should stop saying "we" since some of you are probably thinking
hey... don't accuse ME!! of being a paper cutout its just that... i am naturally like her but i have to always keep the lid on it cuz of all the 'fricks" who think it is so weird to be going about smelling things touching things tasting things roaming about dancing singing or even laughing look around you do u see anyone dancing? look around you do u see anyone singing? look around you do u see anyone smelling their environment? look around you.... no it is only in private that we are allowed to be who we truly are its only behind closed doors that we can stop being cardboard silhouettes if u go into a restaurant people are sitting if u are in an elevator people are standing i challenge you to sing while u are waiting in line at the DMV or smell each and every flower on a particular street ( before the home owners come out with their UZI's to shoot you down for "alarmist behaviour" why do i sound so cynical? i apologize its just that the soul is now banned from being who it truly is it must dance when alone or within certain confines ( like during dance class or dance performance) it must sing only when it is in front of a microphone or holding a guitar in front of certain people or ALONE but don't be fooled the soul is more powerful than you know if this scene of that woman didn't look familiar it should its Y O U learn your language do it before its too late Re: In my language

Date: February 27, 2008 07:04AM i also feel that when things were more natural
and people interfaced with their natural environment people were EXACTLY like her they were constantly smelling plants tasting ( cautiously) to see which were edible ingesting... ( to see if it was nutritive) or even poisonous ( they put the plant in their mouth and spit it out and put it on their arms or lips to see if it would break out in welts to see if it was poisonous or not) the cavemen and women didn't speak the english language and if we heard their speech back then we would probably think they were autistic because they were making what we may simply call "noises" but it was a language nonetheless that was essential to their survival now, we live in ARTIFICIA ( artificial land) what is there to smell? in an office environment... the FAX machine? what is there to taste? paper clips? but this woman has somehow retained her instinct to do what is natural and she is so aware of how people view her as a freak isn't it more freaky that this world has become the way it is to the extent it has so that the things she is doing smelling touching tasting singing has become obsolete? ( on yeah, unless u are eating a meal or decide to be on american idol) Re: In my language

Date: February 27, 2008 02:40PM i can't watch the video for some reason but the article was very good. i have often wondered about a different sort of intelligence being an option when it comes to differently abled folk. looking at it as a gift in an unknown capacity is more realistic than seeing so many as dis-abled i feel. Date: February 27, 2008 10:01PM I feel slightly humbled and graced with this clip. I see myself as exceptionaly non judgemental and open minded and yet watching this movie I found some "judgements" which have been an unconcious part of me that it is time to be aware of.
I definately don't have anything against autistic people but I have unconsciously assigned them to the catagory of simple or just so different to myself that their capacity for the kind of analytical focus required for our communication is beyond them... ( meaning that they don't opperate in a way that allows for it ). This is an admission on my part, but also not to be mistaken for any kind of disrespect as I respect all things. This has definately opened my eyes to the multi faceted side of the intelligence which is autisism or alternative. I almost feel like an apology is required but hey... I have my flaws and I'm working with them. LaV : I understand and agree strongly with alot of what you say but also feel that there is definately a place for propriety ! I find that the freedom of expression also finds itself embodied acting in accordance with a set ideal or image. I feel that the balance is achieved by accepting ALL states including conformity. Date: February 28, 2008 02:09AM conformity has its place
its like hiding a precious jewel in a plain cloth rag if everyone knew about the jewel , they would go after it but hide it in a rag ( conformity) and it is protected perhaps but it has its price both do in fact c'est la vie Re: In my language
