Since we can't afford that, we are going to start saving up for an Omega VRT350HD. It's $379.

Sproutpeople.org sells a greenstar for barely more then that. $395. [sproutpeople.org]

Most of their prices are absurd (do NOT waste your money buying sprouts from them, the sprouts are good quality but the prices are many times what they should be. Buying in bulk, you can get some organic seeds for 1/10th of what sproutpeople charge!), but they have the best price for Greenstars I've ever seen. I bought it and it works great.

Living food,
Sprouting, explain this because I'm thinking it's simply throwing some kale or collard green seeds down and letting them grow to an inch tall then plucking them and eating them. Is it that simple? Also bean sprouts, you just put some regular beans in a cup of dirt and add a little water the wait for the green leaf to come out and eat that too?

Living Food and Rayshak, your two posts above look suspiciously like an ad for srpoutpeople.org and frankly I resent you commandeering my personal strand for your ad! That's no way to get me to buy anything from you, in fact it has the opposite result. I'd appreciate it for you to go away.

(insert 'the dumb look') I'm haven't heard of that website until today, Dear Trive, and it was an honest question. People talk about sprouting but even in the forums on here, never mention WHAT exactly it is.

Sorry for the confusion

Oh, so you were responding to Living Food, whoever that is. Sorry then Rayshak. I though you two were together some how. I apologize to you. I don't know much about sprouting, but there is a forum on it and you might want to ask questions there or on the main forum, if you don't get a response. I'm sure there are lots of people who would like to help you. A long time ago when Jodi (the raw food buddist) was on here a lot, she gave some great info on sprouting. The best I know is using some kind of seeds, like alfalfa, and soaking them and then leaving them on a damp paper towel to germinate. People add them to salads and use lots of different kinds of seeds. I really don't know much more. I just buy sprouts now and then and don't germinate them myself.

Maybe Living Food meant to post somewhere else and accidentally posted on my diary. I guess I overreacted. I don't like ads and fired off a response without giving the beneft of the doubt.
