And so it begins

Ok, so I've literally just started right now. My snoring was getting unbearable and my girlfriend yelled at me last night to actually do something about it, so I decided she was right. Anyone can take the first step but nobody's going to be impressed until I've shown I can stick it out for a couple of weeks. Nonetheless, I thought I'd draw a line on on the forum grounds to mark my start, and here it is.

Just drinking a smoothie that is a cup of water, a whole lot of baby spinach leaves, 3 smallish bananas, some blueberries and that's about it! I've bought enough fresh food for the next couple of days, so we'll see how I go.

This smoothie is surprisingly more palatable than I expected. I thought putting greens into it would kill it, but it doesn't. Anyway, I'll add to this thread as I go.

Incidentally, I'm about 100kg, which is about 220 pounds. I need to lose about 10kg minimum. If I tone up and put some muscle on, I still shouldn't be more than about 92-93kg. Also I tend to get way too tired in the afternoons and lose focus and concentration, which is really bad seeing as I'm a programmer, where concentration is kind of important! I should say also I'm breaking a terrible, terrible habit I've had for the last 5 years or so- drinking 2-4 energy drinks per day for much of the year. That stuff is so bad for you, but I've been doing it, which has most definitely been terrible for my energy levels, not to speak of the health impact of doing that as well.

So anyway, I'm positive about this, it makes a lot of sense to me logically (as opposed to fad diets) and hopefully if I can get some good results, my girlfriend might open her mind to it also.
