Victoria,

Hey my middle name is Victoria!

Sounds like you're in good spirits, thats great.
Where do you get a case of bananas for $23? at the Chinese market on Dundas?
Haven't made it there yet.

Well I guess I won't be trying Live (the restaurant) any time soon after your review. Maybe they have salads? I blend most of my greens now and miss salads but never know what to use for dressing, don't want to use straight oil.

Good luck with the mono meals!

Thank you all!!!

Honey pomello's are probably regular pomellos....I bought some once that were disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they had these horse teeth sized seeds in them!!
YUK!!

To eat the pomello you just want to eat the pulp - get rid of all the skin, including the skin separating the inside sections....I htijnk the taste is pretty distinct....maybe a cross between a pink grapefruit and and orange, but not quite...it's not sweet, it's not bitter - it's just right!!

The better ones have tiny little seeds, I just eat them for the most part they're that small...

THe cases of Bananas are bought at Loblaws - the chinese market does not carry organic fruit - I usually buy my tropical fruit there...mangoes, pineapple, papaya, sharon fruit....

I buy apples and bananas and greens (organic) at Loblaws or get robbed at Whole Foods..

The banana's are on sale for the past 2 weeks 59 cents a kilo.

I usually pay around $31-$32 but now they are going for $23 a case!!!!!!!!!!

I brought a bunch of citrus to work...GP and YUMMY blood oranges (loblaws)

I have baby greends to eat tonight with blended mango and celery!!

YUM!!!

PS - he tole me he put ALL the bread in the locked cupboard....I think he's worried I'll break the lock to get in...

NOW what the hell am I gonna binge on!!???

thanks rawrnr...i bought a pomello tonight and had it...i figured you weren't supposed to eat the segments but that is great advice now cuz now i know i ate it right haha...the skin was so tough i opted from eating it haha...they were pretty good.....that is how i eat grapefruits sometimes cuz i love the inside taste so wonderful!!! anyways you can do it don't break in to the cabinet...i have faith in you!!! binge on healthy raw if you must eat something well don't binge but you know smiling smiley
anyway good luck hun...you can do it

Did you break the lock already? lol!

My willpower is getting better but the cold really makes it hard I think.
Do you have an easier time of this in the summer?

I do get my bananas at Loblaws too but haven't wrapped my head around buying them by the case yet. Don't have a freezer except the one in my fridge.

Nice snowfall eh? It was easy to shovel, I could have done it with a big broom.

Hey BTW there's a Planet Organic opening up at Lakeshore and Cawthra? it's where the Alternatives used to be. I think tomorrow is grand opening day.

They should have a pretty decent selection of fresh organic produce.

BIG snowstorm yesterday!!! TOo busy subbing classes at the gym - I AM SORE!!!!!!!

No, I did not break into the grain cupboard, but instead scroued the house for SUGAR...oh ya addiction is NOT pretty!!
I went into my daughters Halloween stash and ate some licorice...(shame on me!!)

Ihave been feasting on the Pomellos and my bananas are now ripe.....goal today - to eat bananas and a pomello.

YES YES Planet Organic is opening on LAkeshore!!! I live literally 5 minutes away!!! I've been watching it for months!! I used to be a regular at Alternatives, boy did that place GO BAD - empty shelves for months!!

Hey, maybe I'll see you there! hope to get in a workout of some sort this eve first. I will be there about 7:30 ish.

When I shopped there in Halifax last November on a trip to see my niece who's at school there I remember their samosas were deadly. But now I'm raw!
If you see a thin woman in a black coat stuffing a brown paper bag full of samosas while drooling it might be me. Stop me! throw a pomello at my head lol!

They have a lot of really good prepeared foods as I recall. Bad news for us.

Got some really fresh sweet tender organic celery last night at the Dominion in Cloverdale Mall. Don't buy their dates though.

Maybe I'll see you tonight!
My name is Gunda btw. I'm Lithuanian like Victoras Kulvinskas.

I just went to Planet Organic...
well, the banana's are $1.29 kilo
Loblaws = 59 cents a kilo

Almond milk (daughter) = 3.49
Loblaws $2.49

The apples (depends on kind) were comparable...

They did have some raw stuff...
bars, cookies (front of the store where the cereal is...
RIP OFF - I can make a whole dehydrator for the price of 3 of em!!!

I actually spoke to the manager and let hin know that Loblaws up the street has prices a third of theirs.....of course he said, they cannot compete because of hte volume loblaws carries...

The swiss chard and kale are $3.99
at whole foods and organic garage as well as hyland farms they are $2.49!!

In my oppinion..I will go there last resort if Loblaws doesn't carry what I need or Organic Garage...

I am wondering how they will stay open..ppl are going to figure out that loblaws 5 min away is WAYYY cheaper....

I have begun my banana fest today!!!

9 bananas
1 ronaine heart

so far!

I am teaching a spinning class tonight so will miss my running group..oh well!

probably gonna have a pomello B4 bed!!

Well, the weeknd was ok

I ate bananas and celery
as well as berries

I ate a cooked meal Sunday night
It was DELISH!!

Soba noodles with a spicy sesame/garlic sauce
It's just SO FRIGGEN cold here -25 with the wind chill - I ran 24k yesterday adn ate all the bananas I wanted, about 13, but I just could NOT warm up...so I made some of these buckwheat noodles - hit the spot!

I think I may leave the 100% for teh summer when it warms up...right now I'll just keep going and include a cooked meal here and there...try not to though, but hot tea just does not do it...dressing in layers does not do it...

I've eaten banana's only as of yet...I getting SICKA ND TIRED of bananas I blended some bananas/celery/water for my running drink...I hate celery but it tasted good!

busy week again!
Subbing 2 spinning classes
teaching 3 body sculpting classes
I gotta fit in 3 runs before Sunday...

OHOHOH

I will be travelling to Vancouver this summer hopefully for the month of July!
ANYone out there from BC?
I've never been but have always wanted to live there!!

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi rawrnr!! glad you had a wonderful weekend!! that is great you did so well and your big run congrats on that...yeah i started a all banana diet and i was doing it for the wrong reason and i stopped it too.....incorporating some cooked isn't bad and it is so respectable that you can realize that right now in your life 100% cookes doesn't work for you and you need cooked here and there...and i am sure you won 't go wild and do all raw then friend chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner haha...you have a lot of control on your eating right now and i think you are going to make it work...you have realized that not all raw is right but you are going to incorporate the cooked in a healthy way so that you are still doing great!! i am so proud you made the realizations and that you are trying...you area very inspirational person...keep it up and keep us posted....good luck on this and your busy week!! take care

Dearest Tori-i sure understand and i think u are smart...it is just cold.i think i read somewhere that smart people do what is right for them and others just follow.i think there is some sort of common sense to all of this.like somethings like a warm cup of homemade soup is not so evil.or like what u made.the coldness on this way of eating and this time of yr. is something to think seriously about.i have had my gutts so messed up from so many greens.they just plug in my intestines and i can feel the clump sitting there.i finally had to take a laxative.and felt better.i had a cup of warm soup last nite.so u have to do what is right for you.hugs and have a good and wonderful day.taylor

Awww..Thank you ladies!!

So I trudge on...

I stopped doiong the banana thing - I just was starting to be grossed out by the texture and taste..this, from a banana LOVER!!!
So Ia m doingthe fruit thing all day - ususally 1-2 different kinds. I have a raw then a bit of cooked for dinner - right now the cooked is mung bean sprout noodles, Yam noodles (from the Chinese Market) OR buckwheat soba noodles.

Yes the lock is still on with the cereal, cookies and bread in it. It is helping, I have actually pulled at it a few times....
YUM>>>chocolate cookies!
GLAD they are locked up!!

I am so happy to see everyone doing so well!!

keep it up!

Congrats on doing so well rawrnr!!!! i am happy and proud of you!! you are doing amazing...eating raw and a little cooked to keep you happy satisfied and healthy!!! i have talked with a lot of people who went all raw on this site and then after so long they realized they felt better on 80% raw and 20% cooked more so then on 100% raw..so whatever your body works best on...maybe with so much running and conditioning you need some cooked...i mean yeah ideally we read that raw is perfect no matter what...but there is sometimes we have to listen to what a lot of raw foodists also preach listen to YOUR body...if you need some cooked that's fine!!! as long as you are doing something you can stick with feel good about and are healthy!! so keep it up and i applaud you!!!
good job!

Hi all..

Ya, the pic is from 04 - top of my fitness, NOt raw - vegan for 10 years however.
.
I had just run The Boston Marathon - You can add about 12 pounds to that pic..

So I've been eating all raw and a cooked dinner - YEsterday I actually had a sub with my daughter!

Doesn't really mater what I eat - I don't get sick or anything - I have a very strong digestive system - I rememeber as a teen I'd get up in the am and eat 1/2 a cold pizza first thing and no prob!

I just get feeling REALLY DEHYDRATED when I eat grains...bread in this case...

Today I ran 27k, I was like a robot!!!

My last few runs I could not even keep up to the team and ran alone so far back I couldn't even see any of em!!

SO I decided to go back to my old ways..after not having coffee for about a year! I bought a large TiMMMy coffee and added almond chocolate milk and stevia - gotta tell ya UMMM UMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

So I got up at 6am to have a shake..
1 head of celery
2 bananas
blueberries

blend it up with water - YUM!!

Drove over to Tim Hortins, brought my coffee home and added my special ingredients..

I took some fresh squeezed orand juice and yup - some cold coffee with me to refule on the run.

I was kicking ASS!!
Yes I could have ran ALL DAY - coffee is my great secret!
I was about 5 minutes infront of everyone!!!

I am worried however that I will NOT be able to sleep tonight..we will see..

So, I ran 27k in 2:35 hours - it was WINDY!!!
I could have kept going!!!

I drank the rest of the coffee at the 1/2 way mark...

Came home and had:

2 forzen bananas
blueberries about 1 cup
5 stalks of celery
Blended.

I cup up 4 more banana's, added hemp seeds and poured the above mixture over them.
It was YUMMY and satisfying!!

My hubby and daughter made subs - we ate together - I felt NO temptation!!

CANNOT BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now I feel GREAT -

I know the harms of coffee, but it just gets me SO HIGH!!!
I can still feel my heart beating quicker than normal!!
I feel HAPPY

It TOTALLY affects my running in a positive way!
Will I do it again...OH YA!!

Once a week - for my LONG runs!!

I may just do 100% raw todaY!!

Hey rawrnr...congrats on doing so well...if drinking coffee makes you feel better and helps you stay focused on running and staying raw then go for it...my mom is doing raw but still has to have her coffee...many raw fooders do...and hey you are still ahead of most coffee drinkers by eating raw haha...so you go girl!!! and glad you were able to keep up and run ahead of your team that is awesome!!! well i just wanted to offer my support and encouragement..congrats and good luck...keep up the good work
