Kerensa and her raw path
Posted by: Asnerek ()
Date: March 13, 2007 12:06AM

OK, day four here.
It was a super busy day, and all I had time for was an apple at lunch.
I remember this about being raw, though, my appetite goes waaaay down.
For dinner I had a big ol kale/raw tahini mash. Love that. I love those dark greens!
This time, I am keeping raw reallly simple. I am not even wanting fruit, really?
When I was raw for two years before, I was more fruitarian than anything...and now I want lots of greens.
It will be interesting to see where the path takes me!

Awww...thank you for the warm hellos!
I really need it todaysmiling smiley
Today I have had a big huge glass of Kombucha (mmmmmm) and a bowl of homemade raw fermented veggies.
For dinner I have planned more kale salad...you know, the one where it's sliced into super thin ribbons and then you massage the dressing in?
Sooooo yummy.
Still waiting to want fruit, lol.
Maybe that will come with warmer weather?
Blessings,
Kerensa

hey your welcome....you are doing really well with the food keep it up!! you really like fermented things huh??? i am not a big fermented food girl but hey to each their own....
kombucha is fermented mushrooms made into a juice...it is supposed to be really good for you...if you are into that kind of thing...and believe in fermented food it is a staple for some....i personally can't handle a sip of it....we had some at the raw food potluck i went to and i about died...but my friend jessi LOVES it.....drinks it daily so i guess each person is different huh?
hmm you can find it any health store that has drinks....they also have a product called synergy..which is a fermented raw fruit drink...tastes like rotten wine....but that is just me
try it out

and keep up the good work ...enjoy your yummy kale salad

My dh makes our fermented stuff....beets, greens, he does it all.
It wakes up my digestive system, and feeds all my flora and fauna, lol.
I do NOT like the fermented raw drink sachelle mentiones above....I guess I am a veggie kind of girlsmiling smiley
We have our own kombucha mother, and make our own, but it's definately available widely at health food stores!
I would encourage folks to try it, but it's sooooo true, each to his ownwinking smiley
Blessings!!!

OK. So still rawsmiling smiley
Yesterday I had a raw bar from Organic Food Bar company...yum. 100% raw!
Also, I made zucchini hummus and ate that with baby carrots.
It's snowing hard here, and I am wanting richer foods.
Might even go for a snow walk!
My dh is sick, and wanting soup, so I will make him some of that. He is not ready for raw, yet.
Hmmm....nothing much to report!
OH!
The day before yesterday I had a nice organic green head of cabbage for dinner, lol.
I dipped the chunks in tahini with cayenne pepper in it. It was super yummy...cabbage is so sweet and spicy, ya know?

I'm big on the fermented to, but I go through stages. I wish I could stomach the Rejuvlac too!! I read so much about it from ann Wigmore and thought it would help me a lot [went through a period of very weak intestinal flora/enzymes] but my body rejected the Rejuvalac -- oh well. Acidophilis and Enzyme therapy worked.
Speaking of healing benefits of mushrooms, anyone heard of chaga? it's amazing!

OK, it's been a couple of weeks now, raw.
And I am finally having a "detox" kind of day.
I feel reaaallly down. This is so unusual for me. Kind of sluggish, and hyper, alternately, lol.
And tonight I feel like everything is grey and I feel heartbroken for no reason???
Wow.
I don't remember having a detox EMOTIONALLY when I went raw before. I had all kinds of physical symptoms, but nothing like this.
I think I should just sleep a bunch this weekend. And do more yoga.
It's so weird to feel unmotivated!
But, I am still RAW.

I went for a long walk in the spring sun, and have had three grapefruits so far. I am feeling lots of things "stirring up" in my gut, lol.
Off for a nap, and then another long walk tomorrow morning with a friend, and then yoga class tomorrow night.
I am craving kale. There are worse things!

So, still eating lots of grapefruits as snacks, but not mono diet mode anymore. Actually, fuji apples have become my new thing, lol. I started out with kale, then the grapefruits, now apples!
It must mean somethingsmiling smiley
I am definately finding that plenty of sunshine, walking, yoga and sleep are helping with my detox symptoms.
The symptoms, so far, seem to be mostly emotional.
It's really intense sometimes...everything from kundalini type experiences to I just want to get in bed and cry experiences...lol.
So, lots of apples with some raw almond butter....oh, and half a small head of red cabbage as a snack. Plus the grapefruits.
That's it for today!
Blessings!

Well, with pregnancy and nursing, it's usually delayed, lol.
Just getting over a major cleanse...my throat swelled up and was very painful. I had a low fever, and slept all day yesterday.
Crawled downstairs and ate a grapefruit, thoughsmiling smiley
That helped, and so I sat outside for half and hour in the sun.
That helped, too!
After that I felt MUCH better...it was like a tiny miracle.
Last night I was hungry again, so I had some baby carrots, an apple, and some raw almond butter to dip them in.
I want something dehydrated, finally, lol.
Trying to remember what I used to make...these awesome "brownies". Oh, and I used to make my own raweos. Yum.
Must check old notes!
Have a blessed day....you never know what can happen!

Feeling awesome now!
Gotta love a good cleanse.
Getting enough sun every day sure seems to be a big part of what is making me feel so good.
Wanting some variety in my diet....love the kale and apples, lol. But ready to add some other things in.
I used to make a raw sunflower "refried bean" dish that was amazing. I think I will try it tonight!
With crudites and the works.
Oooohhh...and I'll eat outside.
Yummmmmmyyyy
