raw food switch and diarrhea

Date: January 08, 2009 07:48PM I have three dogs, one senior, one young gal and a new puppy. All three have been switched to raw recently. Both older pups are responding really well with behavior changes (for the better), coat improvements and breath smells great! the pup has had diarrhea the past few days and has lots of it. Has anyone else experienced this reaction? Is this normal or should I be alarmed?
Thanks! Re: raw food switch and diarrhea

Date: January 09, 2009 09:44AM the puppy might not have enough developed digestive enzymes yet .. or something bacterial (again pup is not hardened against bacterias like your older dogs are) is upsetting his tummy
with any diarrhea .. human or creature .. lots of water to replace lost fluids is important if you feel you need to back off the raw foods and introduce them slower then maybe try that after ruling out that anything else might be wrong with little guy diarrhea is natures way of getting something bad out quickly so its not really an alarming thing .. its just we tend to suppress it ourselves because it makes us uncomfortable .. unfortunately prolonging the purging of toxins ...Jodi, the banana eating buddhist Re: raw food switch and diarrhea
