Raw Food for sick 10 year old dog

Date: February 08, 2007 03:48AM My dog started limping and lost a lot of weight a few weeks ago. The vet says she has an enlarged heart, a growth in her esophogus, a bad liver, a possible twist in the intestine, and a bad spot in her spine. As of right now she is happy and relatively active. I just discovered raw food for myself, and now I'm wondering what I can do to help my dog. Does anyone know any changes I could make to get her system fighting back? Right now she eats standard dog food and any amount of junk she can beg, borrow or steal including cookies, cheese, meat etc.. Because of her esophogus problem she sometimes coughs her dog food back up. I don't want to decrease her calories because of her drastic weightloss. Any advice would be really appreciated. There is a link to a Yahoo Group on the following site that you may get some good info on feeding your sick 10yr old. [www.rawfed.com] Re: Raw Food for sick 10 year old dog

Date: February 14, 2007 01:05AM I started feeding my dog when he was 4 years old the raw dog food from the pet store..and he's soon to be 8 years old..very healthy with no problems. My cat was 13 years old when my dog was 4, and I started him on raw chicken..which he loved much more then beef.
My cat was very fat, he lost weight, looked healthy, and did really well on raw chicken. So, it's never too late. Love, Prism Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
