I can't speak for every one, but my daily meals go something like this=

breakfast= 2 fruits or 2c diced or chopped fruit, 8oz soy milk

snack= mega green juice, 1/2 c almonds

lunch= salad with fresh basil, olive oil and cilantro over lettuce, green pepper, cucumber, tomato, 1/4 avacado

snack= mega green juice,1/4 c granola

dinner= as many fresh veggies as I want to fill me up

snack= 8oz soy milk

I drink about 2 gallons of water, green tea or regular tea every day, also.

I tend to eat fruit throughout the day. In the evening, I like denser foods. Coconut smoothies recently. But today I am having a salad! smiling smiley

Here is my typical daily food intake:

Breakfast: a fruit smoothie -- 1/2 pineapple, 1 banana, 1 mango, handful of blueberries, a little fresh coconut water if I have a young coconut at home, water, and ice.

Snack: navel orange

Lunch: Green juice (about 24 ounces -- 3 apples, 4 carrots, 3-4 stalks of celery, about 6 or 7 leaves and stalks of kale, a knob of ginger

Snack: another orange, or a couple of handfuls of soaked nuts (spiced), or some dried fruit

Dinner: Usually a prepared raw dish (raw lasagna, raw tacos -- last night we had haiku burritos, so yum, wrapped in romaine leaves)

Dessert: Raw ice cream, or just fruit, or some frozen bananas whipped up into ice cream

If I find myself hungry at all throughout the rest of the day I may toss in an extra banana or an apple or something. I also, if I am feeling really hungry that day, will eat about 8 ounces of spiced raw nuts -- over a period of a couple of hours.

My other alternative breakfast (what I had today) is raw cereal (buckwheat, maple, vanilla, cinnamon crispies) and brazil nut milk (brazil nuts, water, vanilla, agave, and a hint of sea salt) with some fruit (a banana, some blueberries, etc.)

Raw Daddy -- livin' raw and lovin' it

do you guys find that you more or less "graize" all day? I do. I munch here and there, but my salads are all made a day ahead(just in case I get busy durring the day), so I jus t grab and go most of the time. I try to schedule regular meals, but it very seldom works out that way.LOLOL!

My experience:

-Fairly regular & rather small meals...about every 2 hours during the day.

I eat when hungry, which is can easily be more than three times a day. In the past I used to graze more, but more recenlty I find that the time intervals between my meals can be longer. A funny thing with raw foods is that often, as soon as I notice some pattern, it changes!

when cooked, I used to have to snack all the time - if I didn't I'd get that weak dizzy feeling - I was always 'starving'! but after adapting to the raw diet, I find that I can go a long time without feeling hungry. I think it was all the cooked carbs - bread, pasta etc - that made me need to eat all the time. Getting energy in the form of nice simple glucose seems a far more efficient way to eat.

For instance it's 2pm now and I haven't felt the need to eat anything yet today. (this isn't always the case - sometimes I have brek about 10am)

It depends on what you eat, of course. A substantial smoothie with fruit and greens for brek fills me up no problem. And adding some denser foods such as avo or sprouted seeds etc to a salad makes for a really satisfying dinner.

Is it ok to add 1/2 of an avacado to a salad every day, or is that too much or too often?

I was just wondering about the natural fat content! I think it's fine. I'm still dropping pounds, so I don't think it's hurting me. I use 1/2 of one in my lunch salad or lettuce wrap. whichever I choose to eat from day to day.

luna, that sounds fine! some days I eat tons of fat! other days I don't eat any. If you feel you need it, go right ahead - don't worry about any 'rules' (:

You'll be shocked at how much better you feel from day to day. You don't notice how badly you really feel, until you feel better. (that wasn't ment to be a "DUHHH" moment!!)
