We have had hot weather lately which is great...but...

How do I tell if my seeds and nuts have gone rancid?
I have a small refrigerator so i can't store them there...

If you get any kind of burning sensation in your mouth when you eat them, your seeds are rancid.

Some seeds like sunflower seeds seem to go kind of stale (no longer have that same kind of crunch) before they actually go rancid.

You might try buying nuts or seeds that are prepackaged in small quantities as much as possible.

they will get a strong flavour. not pleasantly nutty and sweet as they are fresh, normally obvious unless it's just boarderline.
