I was celebrating el Quatro de Mayo.

It was enjoyable.

Viva la Revolucion!

Let the Raw Flaming and the mild reproaches begin :-)

oh excellent! I was expecting you to be full of self reproach. Nice attitude. Just pick up where you left off - as Bryan says, it's a journey, not an event

This is why I love this site. You all have a great attitude.

I would have probably been preached to if I had posted this on that other site.

I'm well aware of the negatives of alcohol. I've also experienced the high of real health. I'll take health anyday over a transitory sensory experience.

What did you drink? Juliano recommends vodka
as the only alcohol we should drink because it
is clean and has the least amount of toxins.

In the book Raw Food / Real World, the authors
recommend Sake as the best alcohol. They say we
should avoid alcohols such as rum and tequila
because they are made with sugar.

Vodka is used to make herbal tinctures.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I consumed 8 oz. Bourbon mixed with 16 oz. Coke, and finally capped it off with a Pale Ale.
I have also heard that the clear liquors such, as Vodka, are better than the dark ones (Bourbon, Rum). I would think that Gin would also be safer. But Juliano probably knows best.
Cheap Vodka makes a great sterilizing solution.

Here's a good article on Alcohol and Weight gain:

Some of the great Zen masters and poets have been partial to Sake.

weeeeeell, o.kay...
i had 1/4 of a pot cookie at friends jamming party....
won't do it again ...
since
it only gave me not so pleasant/weird effects...
first it kept me flat on my back in a chair, then..
the ....cramps started, ...taking over my vital internal organs...one at a time....randomly....
my head was not affected, & there was no high....
just a touch of giggling...nothing worth talking about though...
sooooo
it will be water for me, next time....

Vodka is normally filter through chard animal bones, FYI. Not sure if this applies to modern vodka, but it was certainly the prefered method for tradisional vodka.

Cider is raw, as are many wines. My two exceptions to raw foods are beer and scotch. But with Scotch, it's not been heated for over 10 years, so many it doesn't count as cooked any more. Some beers and Scotch are cured in barrels that have been sealed/greesed/lined with animal fats. ;-(

I want to try and make my own cider some day.

Drink and be merry!

Ian.
