Date: September 21, 2006 07:51PM I agree, Green for life, it is having a real impact on my raw vegan lifestyle. She offers some great insight into some of the downfalls on a raw diet and discusses her own families experiences...she also did a study that has been picked up by Russia and she has several doctors who now institute her ideas into their medical practice. Date: September 22, 2006 12:44AM You may opt for not buying any book too. Generic smoothie recipe is very easy: fruit/combination of fruit that you like (those that combine well for best results), some water, greens if you wish (tender ones that digest well are the best) and that's it! Also, you do not have to have greens in your smoothies, and it's OK to have days wihout greens on days when greens do not appeal to you.
By the way, when Victoria mentiones that we need about 40% greens in our diet, she only estimates the volume. The truth is that the recommended 1-2 heads of (say) lettuce per day is only about 60-120 calories, which is about 3-6% of daily calories. If you have lots of fruit smoothies with greens, or simply eat mainly fruit and greens, then the bulk of your calories will come from fruit. If you choose to shop Amazon if you do it thru my search box you help me feed my family (at no extra cost to you). Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
