Posted by: VeganLife ()

Hello all! I'd like to take a survey. Who here uses a sprouter and who uses the more basic jar and cheesecloth method to sprout seeds?
Thank you!

I use a glass jar and a metal strainer.

Yeah, I also just use a glass and usually my hand to strain! Simple sprouting.

I bought a sprouter jar and promptly broke it when it fell off the tile ledge on my kitchen window sill.

So now I just use a plastic bowl with lid and strain periodically.

Sometimes I use a collander. But in the summer when the fruit flies start coming around I have to switch to jars. If I'm wanting to sprout a lot of seeds I use a gallon jar and use a clean strip of panty hose and a rubber band!
Works for me!

I would suggest trying the library for illustrations, many of the vegetarian cookbooks have sections on sprouting, but you can find a lot at www.sproutpeople.com
