Fruits of Costa Rica???

Anybody out there have experience with what kind of fruits are available in Costa Rica during the month of February? I'm heading down there with a group of 6 friends in the middle of the month. 3 of us are raw frugitarian, the rest, vegan leaning towards raw.

We know it's going to be mango season and are looking forward to that. I'd love to hear about anyone's experiences or recommendations of what to look for.

I've also heard a rumor that someone might be growing durians there, or is that just a frutarian fantasy?

Blessings To You In The New Year,
Uti

Lucky you!!!!! I spent 2 days there when on a cruise. I hated to leave, and vow to go back and spend a full week. Could not bring back any fruit, but my guess there would be lots of fresh great ones! Please let us know how you make out there. Green with envy, Janice

In my experience, you won't see many mangoes until at least March. The ones there now, if you get any, will be from other countries, and mostly tasteless. You should be able to get some sapote, avocado, banana, and maybe some others. This isn't the best time for fruit in Costa Rica.
