I have read about 80-10-10, the good and the bad and it's not for me. I'm a protein type and even the fat is way too low for me. I like to eat a couple salads a day and sometimes I use olive oil or dressing with oil. Um there's no way I'm eating them plain. And if that came out to like 10% which is probably 2tbsp and that was all the fat I'm supposed to have.. then I won't be getting any nutrients that I could be getting in nuts and seeds. I know not to overdo it on nuts and seeds but thats not even the problem here. 1/4cup puts me "over". Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/08/2007 07:24PM by LikeItOrNot. Date: January 08, 2007 10:57PM Total energy content is more important than macronutrient ratios for weight loss. You could pick any one macronutrient and get all of your kcals from it and you would still lose weight if your expenditures were greater than your food energy intake. But this is not advised. Stick with a wide variety of foods, be sure to be in the ballpark at least for your vitamin, mineral, fiber, essential fat and amino needs, and take it slow and easy.
