~*Fresh Raw Sweet Green Peas*~

Yes, I lead a very exciting life! haha! Anyways, they (Sweet Green Peas) are full of nutrients, protein, iron, folic acid, and very yummy. These are NOT the dried, hard ones. These are the soft, fresh raw kind in the produce isle.

I've had a hard time finding Sweet Green Pea recipes. I've sprouted them, but I'm not sure if they really need to be sprouted to be easier to digest.

I also googled the hell out them to see if they have anti-nutrients. I can only find cooked recipes, and not much info on them specifically.

I appreciate any recipes or info on them. Thanks!

You could toss them in a raw version of pad thai with coconut noodles... or maybe a pea puree with nut milk and cumin or mint?

Or you could try making a simple salad with Nama Shoyu, ginger and soaked seaweed (and the peas)?

ok this is the second time in like 2 minutes I've followed CoconutChronicles' ideas with my own... hmmmmmm anyway... I though immediately of like a thai salad with a almond curry sauce, coconut noodles, zuchini noodles and some sprouts. cilantro would be awesome with this and a squeeze of lime and hot peppers if you like.

I made something very similar to this last week.. mmmmm but I didn't have any peas here in crappy ole central Pennsylvania.. HAH HAHA!

i looovvvve peas

but how the heck do you spent so much time shelling them?

the ones that come in the frozen package are cooked

at least that is what sodoffsocks said long time ago when i mentioned how i felt really bad after i put those frozen ( thawed) peas in a blender to make
"raw" pea soup not knowing that they weren't raw

so, like yeah, do you just have the patience of a crocheter?

u know how those knitters can just sit and sit and SIT for looooong periods of time and just knit and kknit and KNNNITTTT!!

that's like me when it comes to peas

they've gotta be one of my most FAVEEE veggies

but crickety!
no patience, moi !

what do u doooo??

rawrrrr to get all them peas?

Haha.. it's just for me, no one else wants any, so it just takes 1-15 mins to fill up 1/2 a cup. plus we have some organic sprouted ones in the sprout section of the store. smiling smiley I'm not a fan of frozen, because it's still factory processed.

or do u just get them sprouted?

do u also sprout your own?

maybe i should like watch an awesome film while i'm shelling these things
maybe it could be like a monk meditation thing or something
yeah

that's what i could do

oh yeah
here is my recipe for raw pea soup

in a blender put( just put whatever amount u feel is good)

slivers of garlic, green onion, chives
peas
lemon juice ( squeeze the lemon)
some water

its pretty incredibly good

ooo, you just reminded me how much I like chives... sometimes I have no patience, so I soak & sprout them in one night, so it's better to just buy the sprouted ones. Snow peas are good too.

I buy dried green peas and sprout them... they are one of my favorite foods - just buy themselves for snacking.

I grow snow peas and sugar snap peas in my garden and let me tell you it is so satisfying to just take a stroll in the garden crunching on them.

Rawrrr! - I love chives too!
