help for lightheadedness

Date: February 27, 2007 03:51AM I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to avoid the light headed feeling I get. Its not a lack of energy that I feel, but more of a dizziness, lack of protein that I feel. I am on my second attempt to go raw, and always after the first week, I get light headed, panic, and go back to eating fleshy proteins. Is this normal? Re: help for lightheadedness

Date: February 27, 2007 04:17AM After going exlcusively raw for about 3 months I started feeling light headed (kind of like someone smacked me on the forehead with a board but without the pain) at about 3:00 every afternoon while working.
I found it was worse when I ate a lot of pumpkin seeds. I was also eating a lot of banana, almonds, cashews and avacados and a few other high zinc foods so I think part of it could have been a zinc ovderdose. It persisted for a while recurring every day at the same time until I started bringing a snack of fruit (oranges, bananas, dates, apples, etc.) to eat at 3:00. After I started doing that the problem went away and didn't return even if I don't eat a snack. I've now been raw for 5 months and going strong. I started running every day about the time the light headedness started, so my problem might have been related to lack of caloric intake or maybe my fat/carb ratio was too high. It's hard to say, but it did pass. So I'd recommend experimenting with your diet and stick with it. Re: help for lightheadedness

Date: February 27, 2007 04:54PM Thanks for the tips!!! Its good to hear that it happens. I am also glad to hear that running is a part of your life as well, and that others can "go raw" and still obtain an optimum level of fitness! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
