What have you done to celebrate your anniversaries of being raw? (Or what do you plan on doing?) Betty "Don't believe everything you think." --Bumper Sticker Re: Raw Anniversary Celebrations

Date: August 07, 2007 06:21PM Really? No one?
Okay, what about this: In a year, before school starts, we celebrate on a Dominican beach? We could have our own little raw convention, only without paid speakers or entertainers, so it wouldn't cost no $500. It'd just be the off-season prices of airfare and room, and the food that we prepare and share in front of each others' bungalows. The speakers could be us. We could tell about our 20+-year journeys to raw in person. For entertainment, someone could bring their guitar and conduct sing-alongs in front of the fire pit. Oh, and bring your raw or cooked-food eating families, or anyone else who has been supporting your lifestyle choice over the year(s). What do you say? I can work on finding a small, inexpensive out-of-the-way-spot for us to have fun in the sun. And if the beach ends up being too much money for people, we can always go to a woodsy place with a nice cool river flowing through it. (Just remember that mosqito repellant.) For those who get bored laying around, there are adventure tours. And for those interested, we could even do a day trip to check out an organic farm cooperative. Date: August 07, 2007 07:09PM Uh, I'll have to delegate that. Or maybe I'll just learn how, by then. Good idea, but I hope you can make it, Jody. Is there a chance? Betty "Don't believe everything you think." --Bumper Sticker Re: Raw Anniversary Celebrations

Date: August 07, 2007 09:42PM I can see it now...Betty's Raw Adventures in Paradise. Make sure when you advertise, you emphasize that it is raw FOOD not just raw...you might end up with a bunch of nudists! You make it sound so wonderful and inviting. I would love to participate...but
Next summer I (hopefully) will be moving from CA to SC to begin a PhD program. Moving my family across the country I'm sure will wipe out the budget. I love your vision...don't lose sight of it. As for celebrating...I try to set small goals and then celebrate those successes. For instance, as I've been trying to lose weight, I set a certain goal and when I reach it, I'll treat myself to a pedicure. I am blessed to have a great raw food restaurant not to far from me. It's a little pricey so I savor it as a celebration spot when I reach a goal. If I focus on the big picture, it can be overwhelming to me. On one hand, I can't imagine being one year raw...but then on the other hand, I can. I'm almost at one week 100%...so now I'm shooting for one month. Day by day...step by step. I haven't posted a > picture yet...I've got to figure out how to do > that. it`s easy...you have to have an online photo hosting site...they`re free like photobucket.com upload your pics from your `puter to your hosting site click on the thumbnail in your hosting site of the pic you want to post here (one of the reasons i like photobucket is because it has the url for posting your pic right on the page of the pic you want to upload to message forum. makes it easy because you don`t have to do all the img stugg copy and paste that url into the message on the board you`re posting to and viola patty Re: Raw Anniversary Celebrations

Good for you, both for finding a great way to celebrate your successes, and for setting goals that work well for you. Patty, thanks for telling us how to get our photos up. I'll work on that.
