I can't have msg in any form MSG, Gelatin, Calcium Caseinate,Monosodium glutamate, Any Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP), Textured Protein,
Monopotassium glutamate, Hydrolyzed Plant Protein (HPP), Yeast Extract
Glutamate Autolyzed Plant Protein, Yeast food or nutrient, Glutamic Acid, Free Glutamic acid, Sodium Caseinate, Autolyzed Yeast. Well, my DR. of Naturopathy told me that Braggs has some type of "free glutamic acid" accurring naturally. Does anyone if this is true?

thanks and blessings,

i had a feeling it did. i use to use this stuff religiously. i ran out of it a couple weeks ago so i couldn't see for myself. it does have glutamic acid which is what people like me actually have the reaction from. man that stinks, i was addicted to that stuff.

That's sneaky!!

Bragg's is probably now owned by another company and the original recipe has changed .?

A few weeks ago I put some Gayelord Hauser Spike (salt-free) herb mix into some raw tahini dressing - I was soo sick afterward, then read the label. I assumed it was just dried vegs and herbs, but the first ingredient is Defatted Nutrisoy Granules, whateverthatis!

nutrisoy is a high heat high pressure extruded soy protein meat alternative which has been defatted and pressed into tiny pellets

What about the "Nama Shoyu" unpasturized shoyu that I see listed in so many raw recipe books? Is that better than Braggs for some salty flavor? I'm still new to this (>2 mos), but I really don't want to ingest MSG type stuff. I'd be interested in peoples opinions.

Try to minimize salt in your diet.

I would save it for a craving rather than consider it a healthy part of my daily diet.

Btw, don't know about shoyu - it's all heat processed, probably.

Nama shoyu is simply soy sauce that has not been pasteurized. Soy sauce is made from cooked soybeans (as is miso).
