this is what someone said about it on another website, is it true? "I have heard nutritional yeast is a living product. It is dietary supplement rich in minerals, B vitamins (B12) and protein. It’s used alot in raw food preparation to e create a cheesy flavor to a dish. It’s a really good ingredient in a Pine Nuts Parmesan. If anyone can add more please do. Thanks!" "Nutritional yeast is also gluten free and a good Parmesan replacement. I like it sprinkled on a salad of chopped zucchini and chick peas, topped with olive oil, salt, garlic and a squeeze of lemon" Re: Is nutritional yeast raw?

Date: October 10, 2007 02:12AM The added B12 in nutritional yeast (at least Red Star brand) is cyanocobalamin. Cyanide is used in the manufacturing process of this supplement. Re: Is nutritional yeast raw?

Date: October 10, 2007 09:09PM It's weird. There are a few very blatantly cooked ingredients which I see frequently in raw food recipes. Nutritional yeast and maple syrup seem to be the most common. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
