Date: October 14, 2007 06:47AM Hi,
I've googled, and can't seem to find nutritional data for *young* coconuts (flesh and water). One website says 140calories per whole coconut, but that seems ridiculously low considering that a ripe coconut can have around 2000 calories. Does anyone know the nutritional information for young coconut? Re: Nutritional information for young coconuts?

Unfortunately, I just read that young coconuts are soaked in embalming fluid Why do they have to ruin my favourite foods? Canned milk may not have the same problem, but it's a shoddy alternative. Re: Nutritional information for young coconuts?

Date: October 15, 2007 02:15PM canned anything is scary. google this one ~ bisphenol a ~ what they're coating the insides of cans with. scary, scary. not for me though!
know what? i think coconuts are awesome. IF you live where they grow that is. soaked in an antifungal agent, burning so much fuel being shipped around the world and wrapped in mucho packaging. surely i can find something just as good that didn't have to come from so far away? i mean, i buy local made products, why not the bulk of my food?
