some questions

I've asked some of these in another post, but perhaps this is the more appropriate forum:

-How does one make tea not using boiling water?
-are organic salad dressings that you buy in the store raw?
-is nutritional yeast considered raw?
-are vitamins & supplements raw?
-are organic spices that you buy in the store raw?

I'll probably think of some more soon. I'm new to all this, although I've been a vegetarian who eats mostly organic foods for ten years.

And if anyone can suggests a shopping list of things to buy at the supermarket, that's be great too!

Thanks so much! Namaste.

You can make a sun tea by putting your tea in a glass pitcher in the sun.
The salad dressing in the store are not raw.
Nutritional yeast is not raw.
Vitamins and supplements are not raw.
Organic spices in the store are not raw.

If you want to use these non-raw products, they are OK for transitioning.

As for shopping, the best foods to buy are all in the produce section, the fresh organic fruits and vegetables.

I've noticed a lot of ppl use agave nectar in their recipes here. The site you directed me to doesn't say anything about that, so I'm assuming it's raw.

I thought of another question: Do y'all make your own raw oils? If so, how do you go about it? (A true expeller-press is hella expensive!) If not, where do you get 'em from? Thanks!

Agave nectar should be labeled "raw", otherwise it's almost certainly not raw. I've heard it said that the "raw" agave nectar is still not truly raw, and I'm not certain of the truth of this. I use it, but not often or in large quantities.

I've never pressed my own oils. The only ones I use are coconut oil/butter and olive oil. The coconut oil I buy is labeled "raw", the olive oil is "cold pressed". I've heard that expeller-pressed is better, but my co-op doesn't carry it. The oils aren't really ideal foods, either. I use them, but not more than a couple times a week.
