what are the basics?

hi
i am new to the list and to raw food. i really felt that i was intinctivly going toward a raw diet for a long time. i have been loving all the great recipies and have felt great and lost 3.5 kilos since i started 5 weeks ago- that said i had the weight to loose.

here is my question-
what are the most important things i should have in my daily diet to ensure i meet nutricional requirements. i ate some fish /chicken before and lots of rice bread and pasta. having cut that out what things would you recommend i eat to have what i am sure would be a much richer diet than the cook one i was on before.

ps i am brest feeding my 1.5 year old who is on a varied diet and milk supply doesnt seem to be reduced

i appreciate any advice you can offer

-In the beginning, I would eat a WIDE variety of raw foods.....until you find the ones you LOVE. Try to keep it as simple as possible. Stay full....interested...excited. Always be prepared by eating before you leave....and bringing a snack with you. Eat often...and never feel pressured to eat crap. Better to NOT eat.....and just say you are not hungry.

Practical advice: Eat a wide 'rainbow' of colored vegetables and fruits. Eat a pre-defined and reasonable amount of fat with each meal. 10-20% is not unreasonable....but more than that creates challenges.

-Large amounts of deep green leafy vegetables like Kale, Romaine, Dandelion, etc., are packed full of nutrients and cleansing fiber. Staple fruits like apples, oranges and watermelon will help cleanse you. Drink plenty of pure water when you are not eating.

-Eating healthy CAN be as simple as just choosing more of the fruits and vegetables that you love...and being comfortable with that.

-Just some tips / opinions.
