how much OJ is too much?

Date: December 05, 2007 08:51PM I was wondering if there is a 'limit' to the amount of fresh orange juice one should drink in a day. lately I've been making the same breakfast-drink every day, which has the juice of 4 or 5 fresh oranges (together with a lemon, a banana, flax seed, bee pollen etc.).
is 4-5 oranges a day too much, when it comes to sugars? or is it perfectly safe? I know there are people who go days with drinking only OJ, so I hope someone here can give me some advice. thanks in advance! Re: how much OJ is too much?

-I think if YOU react well to a juice fast...or large amounts of orange juice....then that is a GREAT thing! Just imagine all the crap you are NOT eating while that juice is doing it's thing! -David Z. Mason WWW.RawFoodFarm.com Re: how much OJ is too much?

Date: December 06, 2007 01:22AM thanks for replying David. it's true: I feel good about it, and that counts too.
this breakfast drink gives me nearly a litre of fluids, which I drink throughout the whole morning. it gives me a great boost and a lot of satisfaction. I'm just worried about OD-ing on fruit sugars :-) Re: how much OJ is too much?

Date: December 06, 2007 03:22AM Fruit sugars...oddly...get a fairly bad rap. Of course, I've been eating just fruit for many years...so perhaps I'm the wrong guy to ask! Ha! ha! In any event, different fruits have different sugar profiles. You'll have to experiment with ones you react well to...of course. But there are 1000's of different fruits/varieties...so no worries.
-With juice....there is a higher potential for throwing blood sugar off.....if a person has some kind of particular sugar dis-order. Consult with your health care professional and continue to increase your fresh fruit & vegetable intake...and you should do well! -David Z.
