Soaking unsproutable nuts? why?

Date: March 13, 2008 11:32PM They don't visibly sprout, but it starts the same process as sprouting and makes them easier to digest.

Date: March 14, 2008 02:58AM Nuts and seeds have enzyme inhibitors (stuff that keeps them dormant until certain conditions are met) that can interfere with nutrient uptake. When you soak them, it deactives the enzyme inhibitors and you get more of the vitamins and minerals that are present. Plus they reputedly taste better that way.
