Soaking unsproutable nuts? why?

I'm just wondering why i should soak nuts like walnuts if they dont even sprout...Is it better? if so, why?

They don't visibly sprout, but it starts the same process as sprouting and makes them easier to digest.

Nuts and seeds have enzyme inhibitors (stuff that keeps them dormant until certain conditions are met) that can interfere with nutrient uptake. When you soak them, it deactives the enzyme inhibitors and you get more of the vitamins and minerals that are present. Plus they reputedly taste better that way.
