Dry Skin

I've been raw off and on for the past two months. I'm at the tail end of a four weeks of eating raw right now. It continues to be an interesting battle for me, but I'm enjoying the health, energy, etc. benefits. I feel great, aside from food cravings.

Over the past ten days or so, my skin has been very dry. I'm wondering why? Am I not getting enough oils? Is this part of my body's natural cleansing process? Should I be concerned or not? I'd like to think this is just part of my body going getting rid of toxins; I've noticed small sores appearing on my hands as well, but these go away with time.

Raw coconut oil has worked wonders for my dry skin.

I got 100 mL at Whole Foods for $10.

I found 250 mL at the Asian market for $2.

I liberally rub it all over my body after showers, and it's lovely. I'm also dealing with VERY dry legs and lips that were cracked and painful (but they got better with just coconut oil!).

Detox does occur through the skin and can cause irritation. Also, if you've stopped using any unnatural products, I think there is a period of adjustment.
